Had a Mathews DXT for 13 years, always had trouble getting a perfect broadhead tune. Never liked how far the quiver hung off the bow. I shot the new displays every year. I didn't upgrade til the V3X came out. Mostly the tight-fitting quiver pushed me over the edge. I do miss how the DXT was...
As much as I try to stick to a 2 blade fixed head, I think I'll likely have a few mechs in my quiver when I finally get to go for Caribou. With the open terrain, wind and size of them, I think the mechs might be a good bet.
I had luck with qad exodus before, but then one season, I couldn't...
We currently have a BOG Deathgrip for the kids to shoot off of, but it's too heavy for backcountry hunting. My son missed a good bull this year shooting the muzzy off a trigger stick and I think it would have went better if we had a clamping tripod like the deathgrip.
Has anyone put together a...
I don't know the rules, but seems like you could rent this, hunting or not hunting. would you still need the outfitter service if not hunting?
I doubt I would ever use, but it would be situation-dependent, maybe with the wife and kids or in griz country. I definitely wouldn't pay more than...
If he still likes the 300wm, Barnes makes a 130grn reduced recoil round. My 11yo just shot a cow elk with it and she was down in 50yds. It doesn't kick at all with a muzzle break on a hells canyon xbolt.
First time seeing this thread, this is awesome. I plan to eventually build out a cargo trailer into a toy hauler/RV. I plan on putting a big chest freezer in, but this is interesting.
We've got two xtherms, 20" wide I guess. We added a sea to summit ether light,25" wide i think and now we fight over it.
The xtherms are warm, but they are kind of loud like a dorito bag. We also like the wider pad.
I'd be willing to part with the xtherms.
I find them more between timber and meadows, bedding in timber, feeding in meadows. It probably has a lot to do with where you hunt them and the pressure. Alot of the aspen I see is usually on steep slopes and thicker underbrush, which I'd assume is an area they would prefer if there is heavy...
I did the individual and not the trust, not sure which form. it is
I didn't realize at the time that I'd have to pay again to move it to a trust. I did individual to try and get it back in time for a Sep. hunt
I wouldn't rule out flood insurance completely. There are areas in the x zone that flooded here during Katrina. I'm not one for insurance and agree most of its a racket. I probably won't carry wind/hail when I build a strong house here and pay it off. But there were a lot of people here on...
