Sorry brother. Many folks are preferring the aziak clamps now for size and weight savings , but understand desire for stud.

12x42 nl pure or 12x50 el?

I compared extensively. From my testing the “glass” on them was near identical. I didn’t find the FOV that much greater than the ELs, although it’s a tad better. IMO the biggest difference is how they feel in hand and weight. To me it was worth the upgrade. Can read more and see some...

    Compact spotter - 553 or 65 ATS

The new 13-39. I did compare to 553. I personally preferred it because the fov and eye relief were better. The center resolution maybe not quite as good, but overall I liked it better. I will say many disagree, but if you look at the charts in that post you can see I compared them as...

    Compact spotter - 553 or 65 ATS

I run and STM (mag model) and a mini razor (shorter distances and friends use it). No regrets. The ATC would be “close” to best compromise to only own one. It was sweet.

For future @Stockys has been super responsive on here. She’ll make sure it all happens as they’ve said if not directly involved now.

    Compact spotter - 553 or 65 ATS

Concur that the newer mini spotters are an improvement. I will say I believe they still suffer for max zoom. But viewing experience is much improved. About same cost as ATS.

    Scale, Beam vs Digital

I have used both separately and still use both together. Digital is faster, but take time to setup, I have to recal mine every 30 min or so, and more importantly I don’t trust it nearly as much as my old beam scales. I now check every ten or so on a beam and if one is in discrepancy, I always...

    Compact spotter - 553 or 65 ATS

https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/crowd-sourced-optics-comparison-co-area-updated-3-9-24.340252/ I meant to post this. But we looked at both here and you can see some more objective data. That said, the 553 we had seemed off. I’ve messed with 3 of them and this one seemed more “tunnel vision”...

    Compact spotter - 553 or 65 ATS

I’ve used both. Don’t think they are in the same league. If all you want is a scope to look real quick to count points or something, the Kowa will be able to pick out details a good ways out. But as you mentioned the view is a bit tough….but 100% useable for that. If you want to scan...

Am I crazy for expecting a leader ship role vs a lower stress position for close to the same money?

That’s a tough one. I’ve been in some good leadership roles (~300-800 folks) and then I’ve had some roles that pay the same with near zero stress. There is a difference between leadership and management (at least in my world). Management isn’t as fun, but equally as challenging. Know what you...

    Swaro eyepiece choice- 20-60 vs 25-50W ATS/STS 65mm HD?

I bought one with a 25-50. Personally I had dark spots in FOV a bit. It bothered me. So I picked up a 20-60 to compare. They went away. Additionally I was able to resolve more (objectively using charts) at distance with the extra 10x power. The FOV suffered a tad, but in my measured...

    Silencerco Scythe TI review

Yeah concur I would call the scythe “good” in comparison. There isn’t a ton of actual data (tbac summit, pewscience last I checked). But a lot of first hand comparisons reported here (including my own) have the scythe neck and neck with a lot of 7” cans. So saying it’s the best for suppression...

    6.5 PRC and 6.5 Creedmoor

Yup. I wanted to get on board, but with good(fast) powders I’m getting within 200fps easily with 6.5C. And with bullets topping out at ~150 grains (I shoot 143s) I don’t need it leaving north of 3000fps so I never could justify the jump. Only use case is a really short barrel PRC where you want...
