Im looking for a durrable late season soft shell jacket that i can seat over my base and fleece for active late season and possibly add a puffy under when stationary. Im hoping some guys may have some experience with these jackets that could chime in.

Theyre not the quietest of all, But i personally have had good luck with my kenetrek Gaitors. Theyve held up well and kept me dry. Ive only had them ome season so i cant speak on longevity but im happy with the purchase.

I like 8"
No insulation or at least an option and 200g instead of 400
Always waterproof
Aggressive traction or the bobbed sole, Ankle support, good laces, The lighter the better. And i personally like a synthetic boot for early season and leather for the cold. Also it should go without...
Do you have a spotter? How many days do you have? For me personally, i find certain areas of the landscape that look good but if the elk arent there im to the point that i find the biggest drainage i can and glass the morning and afternoons till something pops up. As far as your frolicking...
I have no comparison of the exo but i can tell you that i highly enjoy my 5900. The design is great, its got a decent amount of room to stay a week, plenty or options for additional pocket storage if you want, and ive got multiple comments and how it compresses down so nicely when I'm day...
I should add that im attracted to the 300wm and 7mm mag. But open to suggestions. I hunt elk and deer so i appreciate a bit of knock down power.

Im a bow hunter, havent hunted with a rifel for over 10 yrs but im considering getting back into it. I almost baught a tc 300 today due to a sale at cabelas and didnt go through with it cause i know in the gun world you get what you pay for. Im not looking for a $1k rifle and have no intention...
Im 5'9 and have the regular. Im at max length in my opinion regardless of what the website says. Get the XL for sure.

Also look at the kiowa its got a built in spotter pocket and is described to be designed for exactly the application you speak of. Its an internal frame pack with full belt but is still compatible with all of the SG frames if you want.

Stone glacier r3 3300 its a sweet bag. I upgraded to the r3 5900 for more space (multi day) but for a run and gun pack i think that or the avail are pretty nice setups

I have one season ( a 5 night trip and a 2 night) in my luxe hexpeak shelter and im still 100% happy with the purchase. On my longer stay it rained for a solid 72hrs and there were winds 15-20mph at times and i had no issues whatsoever. Its a great shelter for someone that wants to get into the...
I have this same tripod and have been happy with the purchase as well. Havent used it for my teepe yet though. I completely forgot about this option. Ill have to remember that for next time!

It was mid 30s yesterday when i was out. Not snowing but some on the ground. I have not used any of it while snow is falling though. If your asking because of temps they definitely have the correct things to keep you warm. If you mean as far as getting wet from snow i have no experience there...
Im in Montana and cannot speak for kuiu but as far a FL, i have highly enjoyed the base layers and klamath. The guide jacket and pants have been awesome this season with dwr since every time ive went out its been a light rain all day or everything is wet from hours of rain prior to hunting. The...
Im in Missoula as well and could figure out something. Send me a pm if you want and we could exchange numbers to make a plan.

Ill second this. I love mine. Tons of miles on them. Creek crossing, river crossing, steep climbs they become human 4wd and they have been great! Plus if your like me and your ballence is thrown off slightly their awesome for walking logs. Not something I use while actually hunting cause i want...
I was looking into that. Seems nice for bad angled trees and i like that i can have one stand and bring it to a couple different spots with the ability to hang quickly

I was looking at a thread in the search function that mentioned xop stands. Is there something that you get out of a lone wolf that you dont from xop? They seem very similar...
