I've been able to narrow it down to the box I didn't put primers in, but have been primed only for years. My kid put about 150 rounds through it last weekend putting the hurting on a bunch of p-dogs in Wyoming.
The two boxes I loaded were all consistent & looked good.

Mind me asking what...
Thanks for the input everyone!
The one piece I don't know, is which box I grabbed to go sight the gun in with. Further info now........ The gun has been sitting for years - probably 20+ and has been in my family since purchased new in the early 70's. I've only dug it out due to a P-dog...
Before I go into much detail here, I'd appreciate some feedback on what ones thoughts are on the two middle primers - what caused this?
1) All loads were the same ( Not intentionally changed that is )
2) One of the cratered primers was the first shot to the right. The other landed in the...

I ran a KUIU Ultra 6000 last year & wouldn't recommend any Ultra series if you're also wanting that reliable feeling.
They stood behind their product however I downsized it to a daypack. If you're spending days back in & in need of carrying a decent amount of weight, I'd take the others advice.

The ProHunter has been my go to arrow & no penetration issues.
I don't want to spread rumors, so a call to Easton even on my part would be beneficial to find out. I've heard several times the last month this arrow might be on the cut list. I hope not!
I have two of each in the house. A model 7 in each and two M700 Varminters in each caliber.
Comparing the two 700's I believe the 7-08 has more felt recoil, but I use 140 grain bullets out of it vs 130's out of the .260.
Both 700's shoot exceptionally well - my choice is the .260 every time...
Great..... just what I needed was to read this thread.
I have a mid 80's M700 Mtn Rifle in .280 I've been wanting to rebarrel into a 6.5-06. The 6.5-280AI has definitely peaked my interest now.
Is this an over the counter purchase or custom build? Unless you're doing some extreme long range work, it's hard to beat the 130's out of the .260.
I have two, but will stick with details on the Rem 700 Varminter w/ 25" Lilja 1:9 tube.
NOTE: My results - verify book max and work up on some...
I'm with Ryan on the decision. 300RUM all day long, and as a matter of fact, taking mine out tomorrow. Are you hand loading or shooting factory ammo?
I know most favor the heavy bullets - 200gr Accubonds or 210gr Bergers but I settled with the 180gr Accubonds. My platform may differ being a...
Total bow weight is a biggie with the kiddos. I'd look at the Hoyt Ruckus as well. My kid started shooting at age 7 and is now 11. I've actually purchased him two - one JOAD / Target bow that was the first and has thousands of arrows out of it. The second a 3D / Outdoor hunting set-up. They...
Dad & wife have filled the freezer with several in the 350-375 range with the .260. I've been looking hard at the Nosler 26 - brass is already out on the shelf.
The ballistic data Nosler initially put out was definitely stacked in their favor when they compared it to other cartridges, but still...
