    Did a tough 8.5mi and 3450vert today on a deer scouting trip. Not 1 inch of trail. I am glad my wife grew up doing this. The fun meter redlined this afternoon. We found a ridge that we don’t plan to ever walk down again. I did get a grouse with the 6.5 man bun though.

    Hiked 9.5mi and 2400vert with the wife. Nice, cool, overcast day to glass. Saw 8 bucks, 1 was a shooter. They were right where they were supposed to be… My youngest went with his buddy bow hunting again and they watched a great 7x7 for a while cross canyon… they will be going back to that spot.

    Woke up to cow calling on the hill above the house. Saw the last 10-12 heading over the ridge at daylight. I shot a couple grouse on the way to the trailhead, then climbed a peak, dropped into the lake, then back out. Went 6mi. and 2300vert. Not a bad day off, back to work tomorrow.

    Smoke at home is hazy, but not horrible. Basically just drift from Oregon. Missoula on the other hand is significantly worse. They are getting it from the Bitterroot, Southern Idaho and Oregon. Gotta love a town at the confluence of 5 valleys.
