My first rifle that was mine was a 270 at 12 and it beat me to death! I developed a flinch without a doubt and it haunted me for years. I got a 243 later on at about 16 and enjoyed shooting it much more. Then I went to a 7mm-08 at about 19 years old and killed a PILE of animals with it.
I've...
Same boat here. My first one was a AAC Cyclone 7.62 that I've had for several years. That can lives on a 18" 6.5 creedmoor but it gets carried to a deer stand and that's it.
TBAC 7 seems to be a good one. I have an Omega 300 in jail at the moment. There are so many options you just honestly...
One day while going on a trip my wife and I were talking and she asked how many guns I'd owned over my life. She fully knows and supports my sickness of buying and selling and trading guns, scopes, ammo, stocks, components etc. We made a list as I drove and she put them into a memo on her...
I sold my 7mm-08 and have no use for this ammo anymore. 243 ammo in picture is not available, below is a breakdown of the count.
140 grain Winchester Power Points 40 rounds
139 grain American whitetail 50 rounds
140 grain Fusion 20 rounds
140 grain Winchester extreme point 14 rounds
$140...
I've killed dozens of deer with a 140 grain ballistic tip. The majority exit and leave great blood trails, the rest soak it up and run 20 yards on their chin. I love them.
Put in orders that your able to back order. Put out WTB ads for 300 wsm brass. I've also used 270 wsm brass before when I only had 1 wsm being a 300 wsm. I didn't worry about headstamp then. Collect enough brass that you have enough to not have to worry about it and never look back.
I own a...
I don't know if winchester still makes these because I bought 4000 of them when I shot my 22 magnum alot. I have 1000 or so left but I shoot my 17 more now days. Those winchesters were deadly and killed animals very very well. My brothers 22 mag shoots a Hornady round very well and it also kills...
I had a custom 220 swift that shot 50 grain moly coated vmax into little tiny groups. I never had deer run far, if at all when that little pill hit them. Laser beam type trajectory and little recoil.
With pigs if their in a trap I prefer a solid 22 long rifle round or solid 22 magnum round in the brain. If their in a field I will shoot them with whatever rifle I have with me at the time and either in the head or behind the shoulder.
With deer on crop permits we shot them with 22-250, 220...
I've killed hundreds possibly over 1000 hogs with a 22 or 17 HMR. I've also killed and watched hundreds of deer be killed on depredation permits with small calibers. If you know where to shoot them they'll fall over dead.
A 22 mag will kill any deer you shoot at if you hit your spot. Winchester used to make a bullet that had x's cut across the tip of the bullet that have killed alot of deer on crop permits. I shot 1 in my grandparents garden a few years ago with a 17 hmr that was eating Granddaddys peas up and he...
I killed around 25 deer with a Encore in 243 over the years. I shot the majority of those deer with 100 grain Winchester pointed soft points. Very few of those deer ran more than 20 yards and the ones that did run left good blood trails. I've killed bucks up to 225 lbs with one of those being a...
Can attest to this as well. I'd choose 3 bergaras over 1 Christensen. I owned 1 for a short short (think troll at the chocolate factory short) length of time. It got sold as a POS that I couldn't get to shoot.
I can only attest to what I've seen and shot myself. I have owned 4 different bergara rifles and have shot 2 others I didn't personally own. Every one has been accurate and as dependable as I could ask from a rifle. I sold my 30-06 and 7mm mag ridge because I had no need for them. My 6.5 CM and...
$900 is a smoking deal on this rifle! I've got 3 6.5's and trying to recoup from building our house or I'd be all over this! I wouldn't sell it for less than $900 myself, guys chasing light weight set ups need to really look close at this. Good luck!
That would be my pull out my ass guess as well. Looks just like mine that is 3.5" chsmber and 28" barrel. Maybe a 3" chamber but definitely a 28" barrel.
