The material is quieter and feels much more durable than I would have thought by looking at the initial photos and description. You cannot actually see the Micro Dots from the outside like some of the cheaper hot weather fabrics out there. They can only really be seen by holding the garment up...
Juan, your Tiburon will ship well before the Bino Harness even if both are on preorder. And you won't have to wait too long for the Yukon Gaiters either.
Also, jquarnberg, you should be glad you didn't drop your Tiburon preorder to wait on reviews. It is a very sound product and material...
KUIU has a very nice harness on the way as well. You can read about it in the most recent issue of Elk Hunter Magazine where they stack it up against the FHF and Sitka. It's expected to be available come July.
I went through one pair of Lowa Renegades in the past 2 seasons each. I'm talking sole coming off in the front and big holes in the sides. The only reason I got a second pair was because they were so comfortable, I thought it might be worth the less-than-impressive longevity. After the second go...
Good luck, or congrats if you're already finished. I have done 3 and like others have mentioned the first one was scary. Luckily it turned out great and my Model 70 .30-06 went from a 2" gun to a .25" gun (my best 3 shot group since bedding). The photo below was my first 3 shot group after...
How do you not scrounge on all of your backpacking food supplies while hanging out and doing everyday things around the house? Or do you? I would have a hard time not grabbing a handfull of bars every time I walked out the door.
Steve, have you used it with binos mounted atop? It looks like the long handle can be removed, and all elevation and windage tension is done by levers on the head and not the handle... correct? I think I might order one through you tomorrow.
Really nice work as usual Steve. I am thinking about going to the showing in Reno on May 4th. I looked over the Full Draw Film Tour website, but couldn't really get an idea on how things work. I assume all of the films are full length, but maybe you can give us an idea on how long the average...
Haha... yeah it was kind of a quickie (hunt) before getting together with the family so I told her to wear whatever would speed up the process of getting ready after the hunt. She was trying to hide them for the field photos but I snuck that shot in there when she wasn't looking!
It's been quite some time since I've cared to hunt turkeys, so I haven't payed much attention to decoys or anything. Looks like Dave's stuff has really taken off. Not sure I am quite willing to pay the price tag for a pair, but I can see how they would be very effective and fun to hunt over.
+3, never been an issue to swap between an angled spotter and binos on the tripod while seated in the same spot. It's only about 6" difference on the center post.
