Really like Leupold scopes. I have not had many issues with my scopes. My big problem is the eyepiece. I was using the Alumina eyepiece but now I find they are out of production. What is everyone using as a replacement? Personally I do not like the flip up caps.
I've used Winchester, did not notice any difference but I only used about 100. Like you I like CCi and have stockpiled enough to get me through tough times. Have not been looking for primers for awhile but if not in major retailers I just go to Gunbroker. I know gun broker is generally higher in...
I rotate back and forth between a 30-06 and a 7mm Mag. 30-06 I like when shots are generally under 250 yards. 7mm when longer shots may present. (whitetail) Mule deer I prefer a 257 Weatherby mag.
Your description closely fits my intended use of the bog except when I am walking. As I have unlimited access to my lease I will work on my technique to resemble yours to start.
I too thought I could sight in my rifles of the bog but it did not work well. Thank you.
Some good advice provided. Thank you! I have decided to hang onto the Bog Pod for awhile and attempt to straighten out my techniques. I mainly purchased the Tripod thinking it would be more stable then my bi pod. I do hunt out of blinds frequently as well as walk and sit at thicket edges. I...
My current style of hunting is field hunting the edges: both predator and deer. I move along then sit for awhile. I should say I am hunting next to a very large thicket. Action is frequently very fast. Rifles used are 30-6, 22k hornet, 243 and 220 swift.
Range can vary from 20 yards to 425...
Thanks. I'll try the lower position.
As it takes so long to set up I am beginning to feel the pod may not be the best form of stabilization for my style of hunting.
Just an up date: still unable to get good results. Yet, on a bi pod I do really well. Really disappointed in this rig. I will find someone locally to demonstrate.
I would not feed deer corn unless you plan on putting it out on a continouse basis. Better to place a mineral rock with a camera nearby. If local laws allow. I do this after season just to get an idea which animals survive. No hunting around a food or mineral source.
