Knowing where they are is 3/4 the battle. Howl with your mouth or electronic call close the distance, then set up like you are hunting a bugling elk, use distress calls (elk,deer,moose). Keep your eyes peeled it can take a second or 30+ minutes. That's the basics in my opinion. Good luck
Like many have already said, wolves are incredibly difficult to hunt, but it can be done. I would recommend coming for a bear/wolf combo hunt. Please consider joining The Foundation for Wildlife Management, F4WM.ORG if you are buying a wolf tag in Idaho or Montana.
You know it goes, go without a tag a you will see a whole pack. Tags are cheap, pair it with a membership to F4WM.org and you may come home with $500-2000 or more depending the unit.
