That's a pretty gnarly area to be injured in. I've messaged a few guys on here about hunting that area this year, hopefully it wasn't one of them.

A couple of ideas...maybe "it's not that bad, I can walk" and/or "if I activate this, the bill could be expensive."

Curious too. Maybe he thought he could make it out? Maybe he was embarrassed to push the button?

Reminds me of that YouTube instafamous dude that pushed the button while shed hunting because he go thirsty and scratched his arm. .

It’s human nature. In the fire service they always analyze all the mayday calls and so many of them come late. And these are after training and going through scenarios where it could happen. I think that people think they can get themselves out of the situation and then the time flies by until they realize it’s gone too far. Just my two cents. Getting knocked unconscious doesn’t help either
