I’ve used a monopod in the stand and also screw ins to rest my gun on the shots behind me.
I would still like more stability and wondering if there is a way to rig up a webbing sling around the tree for support for the frontal shots ?
This cart pivots on the axle even with the 4 wheels so it’s easy to slide the sled onto the cart then strap it down. Make sure the weight is centered over the axle or you’ll be supporting weight on the handle. I’ve put a good bit of weight in my sled but never a deer
This is my duck truck. Hawk cart works great on trail and through the woods, then use the sled when I get to the muck. Harbor freight tie down straps are critical. I cover miles and miles with this set up for waterfowl hunting but I’m sure it would work well for deer too.
Yeah no hassle, don’t need to lock or declare. They might ask you if it’s a firearm.
I often include a handgun in my bow case as I like to lock my case up and I find the airlines are less likely to lose (and will return faster) a declared firearm case. Plus you have your handgun at your...
Thermarest (Cascade Designs) has great CS. You could probably send in your pad to be patched and tested.
Add a cheap foam pad and or polycro underneath your xtherm and it will be bomb proof
Honestly they'll fly just about identical, especially within 40 yards.
The length difference is negligible. The orange inserts are CB RPS (26grs) and the silver ones are CB (21grs). Again, neglibile. For confidence, stick with one for your final practice and hunting.
But I'd still shoot the...
I replaced my boat trailer axle recently after a bearing failure ate the spindle. It was pretty straightforward & I only have basic mechanical knowledge.
I had to order the right size from R&P trailers. You’ll need to know capacity, hubface distance and leaf spring distance. A Jack and Jack...
Ravens are much louder and larger. Deeper caw. They all have a round tail and crows are square. (Raven round, crow cut is how I remember it)
OP good luck with the search. Keep at it, it’s a bad feeling, but I think you got him
The Easton bowhunter 6.5s are good economical arrows. I’d avoid Montecs (I shot them years ago, they don’t get that sharp and have minimal blood trails). Magnus BlackHornets or Exodus heads are much better. Go with 125gr
Have fun!!
I've been doing less warm-weather backcountry hunts and more cold weather truck hunts.
I used an Xlite for 3rd season last year and it definitely wasn't warm enough.
What should I go with? Xtherm? Exped? Nemo Longbow?
Looking for warmth, comfort, but not something that is massive when it's...
I often put a handgun in the bow case and declare it. This way I can use my own locks on it and no one can open it. If it gets lost, a lost firearm lights a fire under the ass of the airline to find the case and get it to me. I also get the benefit of having a pistol at my destination.
I know a lot of people have issues with them but mine are sticking great! All I did was acetone the shaft and the base of the vanes with a qtip. I used gorilla super glue gel that has been in the freezer at least 2 years.
I sent an arrow through a doe shoulder Saturday and all vanes are solid...
