The Long X is a prototype I've been testing for a while in my quest to maximize bag volume on our frame system. I'm looking forward to Jim's feedback, and I hope to get it on our website early 2023.
I assume you already know this, but a home sewing machine won't do the job on canvas. You'll need a Juki, Sailrite, or similar industrial machine for power and to handle larger thread. The pro canvas folks may even use upholstery machines, although I'm guessing there. As with trucks...
This is pretty much what I have, the difference being mine has grommets and laces on the sides. This one could be lightened by replacing straps and buckles with laces, and, if only hauling parts instead of the whole critter, it could be cut by a couple feet. And the price is right.
I've still have the roll up plastic game sled I bought in the early 90s, from Cabelas I believe, or maybe Scheels in Great Falls. 5-6 feet long, about 24" wide, maybe 2 pounds, grommets down the sides, and it curls up in front. Greased lightning on snow and wet grass and easily handles a whole...
Tell the wife that's what groceries smell and look like when you have to shop for them.
I avoid ruining my artistic setup with blood by skillful hunting and minimal killing.
MC/CB is definitely a good combo.
Old foliage green frame, Highlander bag, tan lid (orange during rifle season), various colors of water bottle, ammo, and other pouches, plus mismatched clothing. I'm the American hunter version of those decked out fancy trucks they have in Pakistan. My theory is I'm too cheap to buy matching stuff.
MR Futura Yoke, Small (according to older sizing system, I believe), 16"-18" torso. Size tag is visible in the first photo.
Color could be called light olive--slightly darker or greener than average foliage green, but closer to that than true olive green. It would look good with a foliage...
Last week of ND rifle season coming up. My kid has a tag for pretty much any deer, and I have a WT doe tag. Topped out at 0 degrees today and dropped quickly as soon as the sun went down, whichis when the big WT bucks come out. Highs in the teens, lows near zero or below all week.
Also, my...
Torso length range is 16"-18". The pack came with a medium, which was too big for my kid at the time, and this is what they sent when I asked for a small.
It's more of an olive or dark foliage green rather than dark gray. (I was going by memory--generally a good recipe for mistakes--and...
Call MR and ask if they'll sell a smaller yoke. They sold me a spare for my kid's Glacier several years ago, and I think it's the same as yours. $35 if I recall.
If no luck there, and you need a small yoke, PM me. My kid outgrew his. Color is kind of a dark gray.
