Long shot here; but Ive got a Stihl 25 for sale locally. This was a barn find that had sat for a good 20yrs before i replaced all the electric and fuel system. Runs like a champ now. 16in bar. Two chains. Hard case. Im told these are "classics". Located in Montrose, but could meet somewhere...
I guess what I'm getting at is; that's a lot of money for most (why anyone would spend that much on golf is beyond me). I would rather spend it knowing there was a quality experience waiting for me on the other end rather than CPW shelling those tags out as fast as they can to make some fat...
To me its insane that a NR would want to buy an OTC bull tag for 760$ when the success rate for most OTC units is near single digits (combine cow + bull!). If I was out of state I would rather spend that money, or more, and know the quality of my hunt would be much better but further between...
Reached out to FHF and it looks like their pack will be a little too small for my needs. But here is the pic they sent me for reference:
At this point Im leaning towards the kifaru steelhead. Looks big enough for everything and i like the rip zip draw.
For all you guys running a chest pack can anyone compare the HPG heavy recon kit bag vs the FHF gen 2 chest pack?
I would like to be able to store a small pair of binos (8x32) and a subcompact pistol (e.g. p365, shield, snubby, etc). I dont want to use a razco style dropper holster as I prefer...

Those are all good bags. My advice is to strongly consider the dimensions of the bag and what you need. I have a WM that is "roomy", which sounded good when I bought it, but it sleeps cold for me because its so much more space inside that needs to be warmed up. I wish I had bought a...
This one meets your specs:

Me personally, I would choose a 2.5-10 NXS with a simple MIL-R reticle for 500yrd shooting with a 308.
Edit: i didnt mean to post a link to the SFP version. FFP is what you want.
Its customary for the first post to respond to a question that wasnt asked. So here goes: You could have less compensation for wind, less compensation for elevation, less recoil and still have enough killing power by going to a 6mm instead of a 308win.
Without thinking about it too hard, I...
I get all the criticism for the wby specific cartridges, I wouldnt buy one either. And i think the 9 lug action is ridiculous. BUT "circling the toilet" nah. There are many other mfg's that went down the toilet hit a lump of TP down the line, flooded the yard and came back in the house.
Wby...
Ive got a mind to get something ultralight with a folding stock and 16" barrel. My best current option looks like the sig cross. But Ive also looked at the pork sword offerings and other chassis options.
Im not that familiar with AR stuff. Is it possible to rig up a straight pull upper with a...
I ran across some guys once that had driven an ATV into a wilderness area, then shot a nice bull. At the kill site they took minimum amount of meat and left used nitrile gloves, rags, and trash everywhere.
Some people are just pieces of shit, some of those people are also hunters. I just try...
Schnees makes a 600gr boot that is very warm. Too warm for me for all but the coldest of 3rd and 4th season rifle hunts. But that may be the trick for you. Granite.
An old trick is to loosely stuff newspaper in your boots. But I rarely have newspaper in the backcountry. Another trick to try is fill a nalgene with boiling water and put it in your boots. The heat helps evap some moisture, and at a minimum warms them up before you put them on so they dont suck...
The short answer is no. standard length mag (i.e. 308 case size) wont work. Mountain tactical made a longer 223 mag, but i think they are discontinued. Even if you find them, or a longer mag it just add unnecessary hassle. Stick to "mag length" 223 or go up to 22 creed if you want more V is my...
