    RokStok

Has anyone else had issues with bottom metals and Waters rifleman mags? I sanded a bit to get my high desert bottom metal to fit, but it needed way too many shims to allow the mag to catch. Stock plastic bottom metal still needed about 4thou of shims to engage. Stock tikka mag needed about 1-2...

    reloading sales?

Just bought two 8lb jugs of H4350 from Cabelas for about $330 each. H4350 is on sale, then 15% off with club card and Rakuten is doing 10% on Cabelas as well. Couldn't pass that up since that's approaching pre-COVID pricing. Cheapest online is about $370+tax+shipping+hazmat

Kids First Rifle to Learn Shooting

I’ll be the odd one out and say BB gun. I would spend all summer giving hell to pigeons and sparrows, even prairie dogs. I’d plink all day in the backyard. When the rifles came out less often I was well prepared.

    Sig Zulu6 PRO (NEW GLASS)

None of the stabilized Sigs are great in low light. The new pro models give you maybe 60sec more viewing at each end of the day, but are worse in every other way.

    Tikka T3x 30-06 - what 6 or 6.5 ?

Buy a lightweight 6mm barrel and have a gunsmith chamber it to 6mm Creedmoor would be my vote. 6.5 Creeds are great, but those are on the shelf and honestly more oomph than is needed out to distances beyond ethical (for most people). You'll love shooting a 6 creed.

    Sold NF NXS 2.5-10x42 MIL-R

Great little scope - just picked one up and am excited to use it. Do you have info on which scope caps you use for this?

    The 22 creedmoor thread

You don't worry about case fill with the bullet seated out so much? For hunting, I worry that the powder column on steep shots could affect internal ballistics (think downhill shot where powder is not packed against primer flash hole). This is why I'm hesitant to use just H4350 at 41-ish grains...

    Sig zulu6 12x42 vs zulu6 14x50 hdx pro

It’s a lot more money for the marginal improvement of maybe two extra minutes of light each day. FOV and weight/size hit too. I just bought another pair of the gen 2 10x30’s and these look like they’ll be awesome for my son or glassing from a vehicle.

Best current deals on tikka donor.

Best resale: My guess would be an 8 twist 22-250. Lots of guys building 22 creeds that would pay good money for an 8 twist 224 barrel. 2nd choice is 6.5 creed as those are popular caliber as well. Best overall: 8 twist 243 if you can find one is ideal since the gunsmith can just set back the...

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

My mistake - I was told by UM that you were part owner. I still stand by my previous observations but I’ve done my duty as Pain in the butt so I’ll stop muddying the waters.

I don't think there's any gotcha, just the overstating of marginal benefits and inflated pricing comparisons. My understanding is that Form is a formal business partner/owner. Not that it makes him a bad guy at all - he should be compensated for his efforts. The difference is going from being...

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

Now that Form is part owner of S2H/Rokstock/Rokskope/RokRifle, I'm hoping that his legacy of unbiased, fact based reviews are not gone. His arguments so far in this thread against the very system he helped promote are a bit dubious and sound more like marketeer-speak than I've ever read from...

Most accurate best value 6.5 Creedmoor

I would look for a used Tikka if the $500 is a hard limit. However, in my experience those cheap Savage Axis usually shoot pretty good. Trigger is awful but there's a $20 fix. A decent scope that holds zero is going to be near $1k, so maybe put money towards that instead. Tikkas a great, but...
