I've never elk hunted but I do recommend unit 69, PM me if you need help with your gear list, I have listened to over 3 episodes of Gritty Bowmen.

I actually agree with you here. We may not totally agree on realistic timelines, but the gold standard is can you confidently hit what you're aiming at AT THE DISTANCE you'll hunt at.

Makes sense. Could always get a bow sling to cover cams and run it in the same spot, or hide it behind a grab it or Sherman or something.

@KBC I would recommend doing what my dad did for our mule deer trip last year. His bow blew up a few weeks before season, so he bought a used Hoyt CRX 32 for less than $300USD with a 4 pin sight and rest. Was he going to be dropping bombs at 100? Of course not. but it's a really solid bow and...
First off, this is not why people don't start hunting, and that's a worthless strawman because OP is already a hunter.
OP has 3 weeks until season starts. At 3 weeks it's not uncommon for people to still have a lot of flyers at 10 yards, enough where it's not reasonable to shoot at an animal...
Have you ever seen how bad somebody can be with a tradbow a month after they started, just shooting a target level with them on flat ground? Not to mention the consequences of starting with a hunting weight bow for a lot of people. Could someone do it with a coach and a ton of dedication? Has...
I would rather be the guy bitching about carrying thousands of grains of extra weight for no reason than the guy who can't shoot because he's out of ammo. 6 arrow quiver and if I'm not hunting from home in the Midwest I've got backup arrows too.

It's funny, Rod Jenkins talks about it being exactly the opposite - you have to focus your conscious mind on aiming and let your subconscious run the shot. If I had to pick I lean toward Clum being correct there, but I know nothing and both guys are clearly awesome coaches.
At 30 yards your broadheads and field points will group together provided:
1. Your bow is setup correctly - cam timing correct, nock point where it should be, D loop right, etc
2. Your arrow is properly tuned to your bow - spine, point wieght and shaft length allow it to fly true from your...
