Have read this thread probably 5x. First post.
Average size KS nanny with an AAC 77 TMK. Unsure of twist rate but 10 rounds is minute of chew can at 100. No clue on muzzle velocity, shot was about 45/50 yards. Which was about as far as she ran too. No blood trail to speak of but low/gut...
Welcome!
If Bonner Springs isn't too far, come check out EA. It's a lot of fun, bunch of likeminded fellas, just have to put up with @LFC911 sometimes ;)
Same course as @LFC911 spring and fall.
Best thing i've done outside of that is consistent practice under 7 yrds every other day (down the hall way / now garage). When applicable, stretch out 80+
Breakdown of practice would probably look something like: 75% under 20, 10% 20-60; 15% 60+
I am far from being serious about rifles so take that into account.
Grabbed 2 Bushnell 1.5-4.5x32 (they're marketed as 1.5-4x32) for a 30/30 and an AR. Glass appears pretty clear to me and they've done what I've needed them to (without woods use yet). Under $100 if you look around.
Lever gun...
The shop I shoot at got a handful of these in and we torture tested the 250 spine with 50 grain components. Hoyt Spyder Turbo, 72#, 29" draw, 274 fps (IIRC) 495 grain TAW with 100 grain point
Intentionally shot an iron buck target in the head @ 30-ish yards, arrow bounced back a bit. Component...
I'll shoot you a text. Have a modern inline and a sidelock.
Out of my CVA, two 50 grain pellets with a 270 grain federal bor lock (?) has been pretty darn impressive
Sidelock: 80 or 85 grains measured with a patched round ball (can't remember size of patch)
I've got Saturday slated to build a platform for a blind down at my property. If I can get started Friday evening, that would be give me a little time Saturday morning.
Shoot me a text Dos. Bricked out of my old phone. I can let you know how progress is going!
My Fiancé shot her first ever deer with a compound last fall (26" / 43lbs / 375 TAW / 205fps - under 15 yard shot). With her set up, I thought a Killer Bee from Magnus would be a good idea. It definitely worked with a well placed shot, but I can't stop thinking about outcome if shot placement...
2013 3.5 with 243k. Not original owner. Bought with 96k on it.
Went through and did the mileage list on it between 120k-150k. Currently going through it again and heavily consider trading it in. Had some work done last spring and now burns a little oil. Not bad, just something to keep an eye...
