New Argali 3P Tent? Help Me Design it.

I really like the idea. I’d like something that is a palace for one guy with a stove in the late season or could fit two guys and gear early season. Something in between the rincon and absaroka. I’d prefer a one pole shelter but would be curious what this two pole design looks like.

Just when you thought it couldn't get worse

I’m not sure why this is any different than years past when they were 15k. They were still out of reach for the average guy. I’d buy one if I had 30k burning a hole in my pocket

    Best Truck Tool Box

Of course not. I like to keep an old beater set with an impact, sawzall, and skill saw in a tool box to have in a pinch.

    Best Truck Tool Box

chains, a small cordless set that can live in there, small tool box, straps etc I’d like to be able to slide lumber under neath the box. I’ve seen a lot of cheap boxes that break the welds on the ears that sit on the bed rail.

    Best Truck Tool Box

Looking for the best toolbox for a 2010 tundra. I don’t care what it costs I just don’t want it to break after a few months of abuse! Thanks Jon

Skin on or skin off when field dressing Elk?

I leave the hide on in late season. It has no discernible weight and the meat stays incredibly clean. I hang in my garage and then skin. I wrap the quarters in plastic wrap to prevent the dried out rind and hang until ready to butcher.

    "Land Trust" Experiences

I just hopped on to see if there were any places I could shoot whitetail does on and have a good experience with my nephew. That definitely seems to be a possibility for a few hundred bucks or less. The alternative is to take him to a HEAVILY hunted piece of state or block management and have a...

    "Land Trust" Experiences

Man I don't see what the big deal is. Majority of the ranchers by far allow no hunting. For the ones that don't outfit this allows a small income stream with out dealing with the absolute shit show that is the Block Management program in Montana. I haven't caught wind of any ranches pulling out...

    Do you hunt from home?

I can and do both. Even living in the heart of good elk country most trailheads are still a 1-2 hour ordeal by the time I get in the truck to the time I am hiking. Dragging my camper or spike camping always seems to be more effective. Too much wasted time and it’s too damn easy to be lazy in the...

Anybody ever regretted using Iodine tablets for water purification?

I used aquamira for a long time when filters were expensive and I was poor. I still carry it and use it from time to time to this day. Highly recommend. You do have to wait for a while

Looking for some advice for the morning attack on a herd bull

Put him to bed and Wait for the thermals to switch. @Tony Trietch talks about this and I started taking this approach and seem to be having better success getting closer to herd bulls.

    Crazy Mountains in October

You could get whacked by a doozie then. But, I’ll say generally, the snow will melt off a week or two after the first big storm. It will look like the Klondike for a week and everyone will leave and the snow recedes… it could also be beautiful and nothing to worry about. There’s plenty of ‘easy’...

Light weight base camp tent...fast setup?

Cabelas Outback lodge has my been my go to for 15 years. Lots of room and affordable. I have the 10x10 and have tons of room for 2 cots and as much gear that 2 guys could have. Takes about 5 min to set up. 4 corner stakes, center pole, 4 mini corner poles and then how ever many guy out points...

Haulin’ Ass Backcountry: A New Game Retrieval Business in Montana

If you guys get permitted on the Gallatin or beaver head I know a lot of people that would most certainly use this service. Almost makes me want to plan some hunts in the L&C knowing this is an option. It’s too damn hard to find a packer these days
