Currently dmt’s then ceramic, then strop
Have a set of Norton stones in transit, because I get sick of diamonds changing all of the time… too much bite new, not enough bite after time
I have a mini adamas that has a cruwear blade, both it and magnacut is much nicer to sharpen than s90v
S90v is my least favorite steel to sharpen, and it takes a long time to get the edge polished. Have to use something with a lot of bite to remove material, and it’s time consuming to smooth...
You guys executed the “fix” well, such a clever well thought out tool. Every single little detail is well thought out, and one thing in my hunting arsenal I will never attempt to upgrade.
It’s “the knife” for me… it’s one of those things you have to use to really appreciate how badass it is
Reach out here for people in your area that have one you could try, I bet you wouldn’t need to go far, and I think it’s really a good option. They turned out really well, and I will keep buying tikkas and putting them in rokstoks, makes for a perfect rifle
I’m with you there, neck shots have always been my favorite. They are not always the best option, but they are effective. Nice and clean too, blood shot doesn’t spread like it does under the shoulder
Barrel and rokstok would be my choice, but I do like the ph2
You have time now, so getting a rokstok should not be a problem, and would personally way rather have that than the eh1
Yeah, looks about right
Why should he not left the spot he was shot? Unless you disrupt the CNS, they are most likely going to move some distance, whether it’s a 5yd dazed walk or 100yd death sprint
It doesn’t matter what cartridge/caliber you choose. I watched a video of a doe shot with a...
The first time I really noticed that was one year I was taking a young lady out for youth weekend, and the few days leading up to it were really good, deer everywhere, and all age bucks in the mix wishing I had a tag
I was getting excited because the weather was going to be perfect for the...
Interesting, the bucks almost completely quit moving the past couple days locally, assume actual breeding is happening, but the past week they have been everywhere, coming out of the woodwork
It’s so weird that our rifle season is during the most active rut period (peak activity) and the...
Depends on the boot, some are too wide for me. Not terrible but leaves room for my foot to slide a little and cause problems in warm weather with lots of long days in a row, and also not ideal in technical terrain
The Nevada and summit are a little wider than I like, but lapponia or crossovers...
I am almost certain I was able to find out what the buck was I passed in the fog/rain earlier in the season, a friend of mine who hunts the same area sent me a picture of his buck, a really big 4x4 and I was telling him, for future reference, I saw a big buck at X spot, and told him the story...
Went with my sis in law the last morning who wasn’t able to get out much and had the last tag in the family, and I had been seeing this buck on a hidden little grown up flat
Figured hunting pressure would be pretty intense on the last day so we decided to sit on the flat confident this buck or...
I don’t think the slots in the blade are unnecessary, I think the slots create structure to the knife, it’s probably pretty important to make sure the cutting edge isn’t rubbing into the bottom of the handle and makes sure there is no slop
I know some people here know the answer to my question
How quick/easy is it to swap out stays?
The more I use the k4, the more I appreciate it, this past week I packed another 2 whole bucks (quarter bone in) in mine, one was just over 6.5 miles with a pretty big stretch of very steep...
The sentinel is where my search ended too, after trying a pile. The only others that were acceptable were both versions of OV and the gen 2 catamount, but like the stone better than any by a fair margin
What is the heaviest thing you will pull?
My current pickup is a Colorado zr2 and absolutely love it for what it is, but hate it for being a Chevy. It has 103k and has turned into a nightmare… finally wouldn’t start a couple days ago, but the list of BS with the pickup is way longer than that...
