Weather in Idaho in later October can be weird, especially at 9k. I would put a plan b in your pocket, just for peace of mind. It may be 15 degrees, it may be 70. You never know what to expect.
The desert between MH and Boise isn't a barren wasteland. There are elk, deer and pronghorn that not only winter there but there are quite few resident year round animals as well.
The Nellie and Wapiti are making some major runs today. Pretty dang sad, both areas burnt in the late 80's and early 90's and the Pioneer fire burnt the island between them in '15. Both will burn until weather puts them out.
I have a bull tag for regular rifle and a cow tag in December for short range weapons. Hope to notch either or both, but will just be happy being in the hills.
This shows that the LAP program is prone to abuse. Trying to get the legislature (a lot who are large landowners themselves) to go along with IFG and give up this program is pissing in the wind.
And to try and get ahead of this:

Pretty ugly look for Idaho's LAP tags. The exact reason they should be for the the specific ranch and not unit wide.

I generally pull it when I find it. I've flagged a few hundred miles of new road right of way and skid trails. I always used orange tape with black slashes. If I run across solid colored ribbon, I'll take it down.
