I don't understand. How is private messaging an offense?
PS - You obviously didn't comprehend what I wrote. Try reading it again and pay extra close attention to my reasons.
Are you trying to get the mods to shut down this thread? They will if we keep playing tit for tat.
The topic is CO cougars (and wolves) eating people's pets. Do you have anything to offer on the subject?
Oh sorry, sir...I mean ma'am..I mean uhhh! Hold on, let me check the list of pronouns for the appropiate title.
Zer/zim? It/they, clown/clown-self?
Sorry, I'm not sure what to call someone who nags at me other than what I orignally said.
Hahaha
Honestly, no, I don't care all that much unless it's someone I know or a dog I know. Is that really all you got out of my entire post?
You might want to consider traveling to a 3rd world country someday. I don't mean laying on a beach resort in the Dominican Republic either. I'm talking about...
That's wild, dude! I've heard them twice screaming in the night and it made my blood run cold. On both occasions, I was with my dad though and kinda drew comfort from him since he seemed unfazed by it. He was probably just putting on a front though, haha.
Yeah that's definitely not the wolf experiences I'm looking forwards to! I'd just like to see them in the wild; not have them ruin my hunting area. I wish you good luck on thinning down their numbers in your area!
I would move back to WA since most of my family still lives there but I just...
I look forwards to experiencing wolves like you have. Though I spent a considerable amount of time in wolf areas in Washington and Alaska, I've never seen one. Plenty of tracks but never the animal. Never saw a mountain lion either, unfortunately. I have been up close (under 50 yds) to a brown...
I agree with you on all of it. Long seasons on big predators, running hounds, etc, and only drawing the line at poison.
I'm glad we found common ground. I also take comfort in knowing that I'm the closest thing to a tree-hugger we have here on Rokslide.
A real greenie would puke if they saw...
I'm not sure that what he wrote in the first paragraph actually falls under the "slippery slope" fallacy. He isn't listing those things as a series of events. He's listing alternative things that fit the model of "something bad happened to my dog; the state should pay/wolves should be extinct"...
I understand why you feel that way but I don't agree that the state should pay for it. If that was to pass, think of all the restrictions they'd put on your hunting to limit their risk of payout. It'd be bad all the way around.
Perhaps.
I do know that this isn't my first wolf thread on here and it's always an onslaught of guys that haven't really considered what I'm saying. I talk about suburban yard pets, they think I'm talking about working dogs. I talk about pets being walked on leashes, they think I'm talking...
Which type of working dogs? Like the kind that guard livestock?
If so, I don't see why they shouldn't be covered by reimbursement in states that stock wolves and reimburse for lost livestock.
If it's just someone's farm dog or hunting dog though, I don't think that quite applies.
I think my message gets muddied when the masses begin hurling accusations and insults at me. I think some of these guys misinterpret my views based on arguments they've had with the tree-hugging types.
I'm a hunter and outdoorsman, thru and thru, and I firmly believe that animal populations...
Could you please share an article about the leashed dogs being killed in front of owners?
It's not that I think it's unquestionable. It's just that I haven't seen any articles about it.
Wow, that's some grisly stuff.
I didn't see any fences though. All I saw was dogs tied up, outside in the snow, left unsupervised, to contend with the wolves.
Were there good fences? I'm looking at a small phone screen so I can't tell for sure.
