    To me one of the reasons to look at Sitka as opposed to KUIU is that I van go to the store and put my hands on it and try it on. If Sitka went DYC only, I would buy less for sure. I do like their duck hunting waders though.

    Remember you need a license for GMRS, and it is UHF. I like the Motorola MURS units. Much better quality and gets you the longer range of VHF with no license required.

    What caliber would you start a hunter with?

    My son could easily shoot 308 or 6.5CM bolt guns at the age of 10. I like 308 for its all around versatility and ubiquitous ammo. If you hand load, you can easily make reduced power loads until the kid is bigger.
