I’m used to my atlas for the machine quality and stability like you mentioned. But was impressed overall for how light the unit is. Now long term durability I can’t say, but like you said with the lightweight game something always has to give.
My buddy has owned both, the mtn is definitely a little better unit. Not having to use the proprietary mount is a big one, the mtn uses a pic rail and locks in pretty solid. We both like the mtn over the backlanz. It is very light, and I was skeptical but I shot a .26moa group at 440yds with it...
8lbs 4oz without bipod, tikka action with UM lightening mods, 18” c6 barrel, xlr chassis, trijicon 2.5-15x44 scope. Don’t need all those expensive and fancy parts to build a lightweight setup. After the lightening and bolt knob, the action is 2oz heavier than an XM and actually lets you load...
The same reason everyone understands the bullet weight difference but you 🤷🏻♂️😂 sometimes people are better explaining things in words than others. Some people understand those words better than others.
If they do yaw and exit sidewayz and tumble and whatnot, but still wreck stuff and kill every time. Who cares! This could be an advantage especially with higher impact velocities. But mono’s like speed, I feel this is widely known.
And form just comes across sassy all the time, the guy is just...
180 hybrids have been devastating on deer out of my 7 saum. I’m always open minded to different bullets but so far the 180’s have got me sold. I’ve got 1 black bear with them and the results were odd, so I’d like to get another one with them and confirm what I’m seeing on deer.
Had this issue with my buddy and his Hornady app. I was running applied ballistics and verified it jbm ballistics. They were less than an inch from each other. The 4dof was waaaaaay off. -34° angle had to be like -21° to match the AB -34° solution. Flat ground they’re within .1mil of each other.
Selling this package for a friend. Maven 11x B2 binos, Sig Kilo 2000 range finder, AGC bino harness in ranger green, bino stud and adapter for tripod. AGC harness is like new, B2’s have some marks on the lenses but doesn’t affect the operation at all. Kilo 2000 has some marks as well and...
Much shorter overall length package, you get to use plans brass which in an improved form will last you multiple barrels before it gives up, those are the 2 big ones. On paper they look to be pretty close.
Don’t get these guys wrong, a .338 lapua you will not be disappointed with. But a lot of...
I noticed a recoil increase going from 215 Bergers to 245 Bergers, expect even more with a 300 berger. My rifle is 11.25lbs with bipod also. So having a slightly lighter rifle in a big 30 cal configuration is a better route in my opinion. 10-11lb rifle, not too heavy and not too light. With a...
Are you set on a .338 caliber? A 300 Norma improved running a 245 berger is ballistically better than a Lapua and a 300 berger in a hunting configuration. 26” barrel for example. Less recoil and the elk most likely won’t know the difference. After owning both it would be hard for me to build a...
I’ve started building smaller rifles for majority of my hunting. My Norma only comes along in certain hunting locations now…although the 2 times I didn’t take it this season I could have used it haha. Go figure…
