My wife and I like the flavor of the GU tabs over the NUUN tabs. No observed difference in outcomes, so my opinion is based on taste.

Agree with everyone. It’s your rifle so I would do it if you have the expendable cash. For me I use whatever comes with the rifle but I don’t shoot competitively. I shoot at paper and animals and have always been happy with results. That said I wouldn’t mind a cheek riser or pad on some rifles...
I got the lomax trifold. It’s real nice but only folds up 2/3. It is easy to take off and set in the bed if you need the whole bed. Got a good price too from the f150 forums. It’s dry and haven’t had any leaks yet. Pretty secure. I wanted to like the diamondback but I just don’t think it was for...
Thanks for all the kind words. Headed on a trip this week and started reflecting on what a great trip that was. I hope I can go again with my kids one day and act as a packer for them. What an experience.
Here is my mount after a lot of deliberation on what to do. I am very happy with the...
That’s my understanding. I am going to stick with my savage bc I just bought it a couple years ago. But yeah, one round.

I have savage 220 for illinois. Dad just got a Henry single shot that is awesome.
If you want cheap and good, my dad hunted with a Remington 870 with a rifled slug barrel for close to 30 years. Killed lots of deer with that gun.
But, next year certain single shot rifles will be legal...
I must be the odd one. I have killed animals with all shapes and sizes of guns. But, if I do the shooting drill Form posted, I consistently hit 4-5 more in the circles with my suppressed 6.5 tikka than my 7mm rem mag cooper backcountry. Both lightweight. Both excellent shooters.

I too got the 4x unknowingly on a sale. At the time I was unaware of the 2x. How much of a difference is there. At most we shoot 400 yards as the tree lines break up our fields. Is the 2x that much better for those distances or is the 4x serviceable? If 2x is worth it I could trade or sell and...
I have one too and haven’t really “figured it out” yet. What light are people using? It comes with one. And are you spotting them with a handheld light first? Sorry to hijack but the responses may help the OP.

I did this for about 20-30# of ground venison for a few years. I would freeze solid pieces of meet and grind as needed bc it’s a lot slower. Worked good though. I process a lot more meat now and am making more sausage and brats etc so a grinder was a necessary upgrade. If you are just doing a...
Love mine. I have the green. Great all around jacket and blocks wind very well. Put zips are very welcomed. I am in STL and wear it until puffy weather comes. No regrets here.

Awesome write up. I made mine for the first time this weekend. I wish I had a sweet smoke house like that. I used a small Weber Smokey Mountain, Eesh. I had to discard about 2” on two that were close to the coals but the rest turned out awesome. I did some cheddar, some jalapeño cheddar and some...
Holy hell I just looked it up on gunbroker where I bought mine. About $1500 more now than it was when I got mine April 2021. I’ll sell you mine ;)

I went the Cooper route. They made lefty rifles and I found one for just over 3k. I was going to order a Christensen but there was no end in sight when ordering a lefty and I read some quality control issues with their rifles being awesome or lemons. So I got a Cooper backcountry. They were in...
My 8 yo son harvested his second deer of his life. His first was missouri youth season two weeks ago. Last night he connected with the biggest buck of his life. [emoji14]

Roger that. I think based on dB reduction ratings, they are very similar if the suppressor can reduce the dB at the ear to under 140 dB. Plugs only lower by 15-30. My very expensive defendear digital hearing protection has a noise reduction rating of 26. Not trying to argue but I think quality...
Hearing loss is related to dab and duration. That is why the OSHA guidelines make sense. I believe it is around 85dB for a time weighted average of 8 hours. For every 5db increase the exposure should be half the duration. So it’s basically an 8 hour weighted equivalent.
That said, tinnitus is...
Proud daddy here. 8 year old son and his first hunt as the shooter. Nice 56 yard shot on a mature missouri doe. This was his first time shooting with obstacles and he handled it very well. He was so excited and already wants to go back. I guess he will be shooting during rifle season and I will...
