What's yalls vote for the go to electronic powder dropper? Fa intelladropper, rcbs chargemaster, hornady?
Looking for 1 to do primarily rifle shells for target / hunting. 223, 22-250, 6.5 cm.
I dunno, I just sold a sako s20 precision and bought a tikka upr. I think the tikka is the better rifle. Stock on the upr doesn't have that cheap plastic feel, both actions are smooth, the trigger doesn't slide in the upr but its still an adjustable, crisp trigger. And I can buy...
Its a varmiter, .75 at the muzzle, haven't pushed it past 3 shot groups. I did however completely disassemble the rifle, remove scope, removed the rail, threaded the muzzle, reassemble, and hit the same 1" target @ 100 yards.
So I'm curious how price plays into accuracy. My assumption is that its minor relevance.
The rifle should be of the hunting class, say less than 12lbs.
So I my most accurate is probably my tikka 22-250, I haven't taken the thermal off it to shoot a groups with it, but sighting in, she's sub...
Well, here's my 2 cents on the dead horse...
So, why did winchester quit making their action after what 40 years of being the premier American bolt action? Why did they re-tool their entire product line? Cause what they were making was not selling. I'll wager that a rifle of the pre64...
Why not just get a fast twist 243 win, and ai it if you feel the need?
I like the tikka idea, looked at seekins, bergera's and others at euro optics, and tikka won.
I like fast and flat for my calling rifle. Currently shooting a tikka t3x varmit in 22-250.
With hogs being targeted id definitely go 243, and if your hunting a bait site, maybe 6.5 creed. Coyote fur isn't worth anything, and 6.5 will thump a piggy.
Im a urban logger. Own a tree service. Have done excavation work as well. Military trained as an electronics tech and law enforcement.
I work so I can afford motorcycles, and coyote hunting.
I ordered an mdt oryx cause I have 1 on a ruger american g2, shot better, and worked in my tripod better. I think the oryx will fit the tikka easier than the American, the front action screw is blind on the ruger, to swap stocks the mag release must be removed, and its a shouldered pin with a...
I grew up on a farm so my scouting was from a tractor seat. Deer, buck included are quite predictable pre rut, I like to hunt food, and field corners, and peak times / days. 2 hrs when the conditions are right beats 3 days of the wrong conditions.
Bought 1 for a ruger g2 American, liked it so much I just ordered a second for a tikka upr so I don't have to cut up the factory stock to use arca.
It reduced my group size in the ruger by 1/3 to 1/2. Fyi
Just jumped on the upr band wagon and want to add a arca rail... any pointers? I have an arca on my t3x varmit but the upr doesn't have the 3rd forend hole completely drilled out.
Oh, it drops like a bad rock, scope can adjust for like 25 moa and its limited from 50 to 156 yards with this shell. This gives me a 165 to 175 yd max range. Its about as quiet as a crossbow.
I hunt alot of fields here in pa, 300 yard shots aren't uncommon so I understand your Wyoming hunting...
I saw a ruger american ranch g1 in the lgs. Had an idea and a burris eliminator 2 handy, put my gemtech tracker 30 on it.
Fiochi 220's were too slow (760fps), but the hornady subx could be calculated for with the scope. I have a max calculated range of 156, its stupid quiet, shoots accurate...
