Unfortunately I don't have a ton of pics, we did scale it, 40 on the nose, so not a tiny yote. Full size chompers etc. I think the fading light was giving it a fox color.
Wednesday's coyote, first daylight called yote, first for the ar w/ the fat cat can as well. 34th. Coyote of the yr, the 22-250 smokes most after dark.
Just finished load development for my beretta brx1, 20" very happy with the results. The rifle has a light, but creepy trigger so match accuracy will be tough, but it is accurate. Progress was slowed by a broken decapping unit on my die, but all fixed now, even bought my lgs outta his 85 sgk's.
Id be choosing a 2nd focal plane, 3 to 9 to 4 to 16x. 30mil or larger, illuminated recticle setup. Your gonna want something great in marginal light, or direct sunlight, as you end up calling the wind more than anything
Congrats! I'm a grown man and like my 6.5cm, don't need more than that for whitetail. While doing load development I found a nice combo of a 135 berger & some 4831sc. Absolutely drives tacks but it's slow. (2400 fps) in my Tikka. It's pretty gentle on the shoulder too
I could be interested in chassis... already have 2 tikka's buggers shoot. Doing load testing for my 6.5 creed upr, no load exceded 1" with 3 powders and a range of charge weights. Only shot the 135 berger hybrid hunter bullet.
Had a black bear inside 30 yds coyote calling.... had a 3.5" turkey load in, had I needed it, I had faith in it. Inside 10 yards the shot column is basically 2oz slug...
I loaded up 40 to 42.3 gr of imr 4350 and clocked that, speed improved to 2688, moving roughly 100 fps per grain. The berger data i found showed max at 43.1 for 4350. That should get me up to the speed id be happy with. Hopefully it groups as well.
Its a tikka upr 6.5 creed that is 2 months old. Likes 140 eldm match factory, really likes federal premium 135 berger hunter factory, trying to roll my own replication of this load.
Sorry thought I included that, 6.5 creed with remington brass & primers, they were originally 140 coreloks, but they shot terrible in my rifle, and a friend's 6.5 so I tore the shells down.
So... I'm trying to get a load working in my tikka with 135 bergers. I've found accuracy with 42 gr of h4831sc, but it's slow (2400). Ran my powder up to 43.6, speed picked up to 2560, but id like to see 2800 fps. Brass is remington, primers are remington factory or federal 210's. Running...
I use the f/a intelladropper. Does well, accurate to the 10th of a gr. Did real well with cfe223, when I put 4831sc in it sometimes it overtrickles, but not often. I don't even use my trickler, I let the auto dropper do it, if it screws up I toss the charge back in the hopper
Backfire had a video up where he compared 20" against 24" and found that the difference between the 6.5 prc and creedmoor was also the difference between 20 & 24" pipes.
Personally I went with a tikka upr in a creed, with a 24"
I know you didn't mention it, but beretta brx1 is completely ambidextrous, and a slick rifle, best of all, when sell time, either right or left shooters can use it
