    I prefer bowhunting. But walking around the woods with a rifle is enjoyable also. Our gun season starts basically right after leaf drop is complete. Open hardwood hunting is much better with a long range weapon.

    The evidence as I see it. Less powder, less brass and less lead per round. Guys here are singlehandedly responsible for elimination of ammo shortages.

    If anyone wants to buy a H&R 20 gauge slug gun, I can include ammo. :) Hardly worth offering that since it's only a few rounds.     One point that I reflect on with past kills on the ground. I went to the deer. Hiked with my swivel 5gallon bucket until the sign was hot. Often that was a funnel type of vegetation or terrain. Fun, but you only get does generally. The two small openings at 45 degrees comment sure is good...

    I also have the Athlon 65mm. It's difficult with eyeglasses. And Razor has a mm or two more eye relief. I'm probably not going to try it but for the price, you can always get your money back.

    Always, always check your tree stand for any possible issues. Had a cable break today when I was in the stand.

    Tied in from the first step up is best. I lost my archery mentor from treestand accident. He was prepping stands in summer and fell. PLEASE wear safety gear even with ladder stands.

    Try an S and P 500 index. Super low expense ratio with low risk and decent return. Better than a target date fund. Set and forget. Mark the returns for reinvestment. Worry about hunting, not fund prospectus, market timing, earnings report blah blah blah.
