I have more than 4.8 mils left with the 100 yard zero. That 4.8 mils that the dialing turret will turn gives me the 600ish yards
I think I had about 3 mils left with the original flat scope mounts.
I think this is huge. I see this all the time on Facebook groups. People kill (kill!) stuff with ELD-Xs then complain because they didn't make a pretty mushroom like a Barnes TTSX at 50 yards. Then say they will never use them again because they didn't work. All the while talking about an animal...
I used a 20 MOA rail for mine on my 17.75" 6ARC and can get 600 yards of travel with a 100 yard zero. There's not a lot of rifles slower than a cut 6ARC. LOL.
For the price of a quality new sight, you could probably add another hundred or two and get a very nice used full setup that is much more up to date than what you have. I would start looking hard on the Archerytalk classifieds at what is available.
I went with a tiny Pic rail and then a carbon Sunwayfoto tripod that does ARCA or Pic with the ball head. No way would I want a sloppy, slow clamp. The lever for the area/pic interface is crazy quick and easy.
The Sunwayfoto is pretty light also at 3# and allows standing shots if needed.
Fun? Who cares? Monos suck. Some just suck less. Theoretical impossibilities aren't fun. They are a waste of time and energy IMHO.
Why are you shooting animals in the food parts intentionally?
Since I bought my Scythe there will never be a time that it is not on the rifle I am carrying. I will actually buy another one just like it for my son or wife to have on their rifle as well for next season rather than swapping back and forth.
The way that a suppressed shot calms the entire...
I went ColeTac Baby Python. I called them and asked what the real differences are between this and the Python being the Baby was recommended for rimfire only and found it was 2 vs 3 straps. She recommended the Baby due to the short length of the Scythe. Order a little less diameter than actual...
If you guys are on the same Family iCloud account she can download it and use your login and have all of your info in her phone. I do this with my son.
You have to remember that animals are only so wide/thick. There is a limit to how much tissue damage a 1-1.5" wound channel from a TTSX will generate. Most of the "energy" goes out the back of the animal and is useless in that scenario. (I personal don't give a crap about energy. Velocity only...
That's pretty standard for a lot of scopes unfortunately.
Guys miss or wound animals. Then go to the range to check it. Shoot once, it's off. They chalk it up to them "pulling it." That shot vibrates the erector back into position. The second shot is on target so they call it good.
Rinse and...
I would NOT, under any circumstances, want to check a bare hunting pack. Even at the gate. WAAAAAY too many loose straps that WILL end up getting cut when they get stuck in the baggage carousel.
I used mine for the first time Saturday. Worked just fine but yes, you have to follow the satellite. My wife was able to get back to me quickly. It's pretty cool that you are texting in the same "thread" as when you have service so if you are in an area where cell comes and goes as you top...
Sure is. When I lived in Louisiana we drove that Clayton-Raton stretch every summer a couple of times heading to the mountains. Saw goats everywhere. This was pre 2020. I had to drive that back and forth for a trip back down there late August this year and saw very, very few pronghorn. It was...
