If you had to pick one spotter for all of your hunts, what magnification range would you go with? I’m tempted to get a 20-60, but I like the weight and size of the 15-45 models. I tend to do a lot of hiking on my hunts. An extra 1.5-2lbs isn’t horrible but it certainly adds up.
I don’t mean...
Man, any halfway decent deer after 3 years would make me happy. A booner like that’s gotta make you jump for joy! Congratulations!!!

Search this thread for "Unit xx" and you'll find some info that's helpful. There's a great writeup from Elkster12 about his experience in Unit 12 that made me take it off my list. do the same with each unit you're looking at.
Great thread! Does anyone have any feedback on the amount or effect of baiting units 6 or 14? I’ve been I’ve already eliminated 12 due to some feedback posted here. Wondering if anyone has any similar experience in either of these units. Want a spot and stalk hunt and I’d rather not have so much...
Check out the Maps feature on GoHunt. Lots of good features there. Shoot me an email or if you get up to 10 posts and can send PM's then shoot me one and we can exchange info. I don't have too much, but I've got our hunt narrowed down to 3 units.
It's the one shown here. I don't have the original box anymore. I believe this is the only reticle available for the scope. The entire thing illuminates when you turn it on.

I've never used mine on anything bigger than a mule deer, but Teddy Roosevelt took down most of the big game in Africa with a 257 wby. Just be sure your shot placement and bullet selection is good. I don't typically see a lot to choose from in 257. I'm sure others will chime in, but from...
Glad I could actually contribute something to this forum after everything I’ve taken from it. Also, if you order it from Amazon it’s only $31 instead of $41 and you get free shipping.

Limbsaver 10807 Airtech is what I ordered and it fit perfectly. When you take the factory pad off there’s a bit of curvature, but once you screw the limbsaver on it forms to the stock. Night and day difference from the solid block of rubber Bergara sells with the rifle.

Price drop. Make an offer! Save on tax and shipping plus you’re getting a huge price cut relative to a bag from Eberlestock.

Thanks for the feedback! Why wouldn’t you take it backpacking? Because of the weight or something else? I’ve been considering the Northgate and figured it’d be fine for a backpacking hunt if you split the tent/stove between 2/3 people.
