    I would check left over license lists in any states of interest. I would assume if anything is left it'll be a unit with difficult access or elk that mostly stay on private, so filling your tag would come down to being lucky.

    Awesome buck! I was up in 169 opening weekend, we ended up with two bucks and a doe on opening day with our group of 4. I was shot the buck attached at 2pm traveling between two bedding areas.

    Condensation on a quilt

    The condensation on my 0deg quilt makes so much more sense now. I was getting frost on the outer edge of my quilt, while the guy next to me didn't have much. He had a 20F bag without DWR down, I'm guessing the 20deg bag had the bulk of the moisture going all through.

    How do you correct for cant angles when using the VA-5 head. Its my first year with a tripod and so far it's a pain to get it completely level for shooting. For this year I've resorted more to shooting off my quick stix or bag. Would a leveling head be useful for correcting cant?

    I noticed the width difference on the arca plate that came with my VA-5 head and the arca plate I put on my rifle. You can get more than a 1/4 turn by pulling out on the screw piece and rotating it, it's not ideal, but what I do to switch between my rifle and bino arca plate.

    I use daily contacts and learned to put them in without a mirror when I need to. I use an alcohol wipe or a spray of water to clean off my hands before putting them. More and more, I've switched to using my glasses with a strap. My eyes dry out with contacts.
