    Leave friday the 10th, the extra 2 days of hunting are wayyy more valuable than the "proper" moon phase. I've had plenty of great hunts on a full moon with elk screaming at noon. I think it has very little to do with it personally.

    I would argue base layers you can get away on the cheaper side and outer layers you kind of get what you pay for.     Non-refundable Western points I roughly spend- WY- 120$, AZ- 180$'s, CO- 140$'s Elk tag every year- 6-800$ SD pheasant and ducks every year- 200$'s WI in-state hunting- 150$'s or so So in the ballpark of 1500-2000 depending on the year.
