So I normally head west every fall but having kid #2 this summer put a damper on it this year, but here's my conundrum. I was originally planning on heading back to MT in 2023 so I bought a preference point with the idea of having 2 going into next year's draw.
More recently I've had someone...
60 if they’re calm and the situation presents. Would much rather have them at 45-50. Whitetail at 40 is plenty far with how twitchy they are and even at 40 if I had to stop them I probably wouldn’t shoot. First elk I killed was at 49 and he didn’t go 20, perfect V and I couldn’t walk it over...
I pretty much only hunt pheasants in WI and SD, average 2-3 hunts/week and kill around 35 roosters very fall. I would say I average 2-3 shells per bird so 3 boxes or so of BOSS #4's. I hunt both WPA's and state land and I don't want to mess with switching out shells. It also allows me to jump...
You'll get ahead of it, puppies suck. They need exercise, a tired golden is a well behaved one. Luckily for you golden's are one of the easier breeds to train, people pleasers for sure. Sounds like some obedience training would be worth the investment more so to teach you than anything else...
I've got the Dan's 5 star chaps and love them. I use them in SD/WI during deer drives, but they really shine in the late season cattails pheasant hunting.
A lot of primary home buyers don't realize the amount of cash still out there, and I'm not just talking instutional investors but mom and pop rental investors that have seen their net worth triple in the last 10 years that bought at the last crash.
I'm heavy into real estate with my net worth...
I've heard the same thing with early neutering. Our's knock on wood still looks great and has no signs of really slowing down (sleeps a bit more on heavy activity days). We decided to leave ours intact, but we've also studded him out on occasion. My next one will be a female, one thing that...
Haul ass out, haul ass home. I've got 2 young kids at home, so I only get x amount of time away from home, it's a lot on Mom when I'm gone. I've got an 18-20 hour drive to get to my elk hunting areas so if I can get out there in one day and be hunting right away I'm going to do it, I can sleep...
Run them. My field bred golden does 25-30 miles/week with me, it doesn't completely tucker him out but it certainly helps and keeps him in shape until it's time for roosters to die in the fall. Keeping a lean healthy dog helps as they age as well, I'm hoping to hunt him until the day he drops...
3.5 hours on Lake Superior. We do long weekends up there occasionally and a couple weeks in the summer. I rent it out when I'm not there. I wish it was closer to 2, but it's a pretty drive and I don't mind it at least.
I found a sort of hack. I stole my brothers password for his cable that he has. I downloaded the Bally Sports App and use his password to activate it and that's how I watch the best team in the NL Central...The Brewers of course ;)
If you know anyone that has cable, give them a couple cases...
Me too haha. I’m a long term holder. I firmly believe crypto is the future of currency, I feel like it’s too big to fail completely at this point.
Mind you I only have about 5% of my net worth in it so if it goes to zero I’ll still be fine. I hope I’m right but who knows.
I accrue 6.5 weeks of PTO a year, can keep about 9 weeks in the PTO bank before it stops accruing, tack on another 2 weeks of extended illness that doesn't have a max. One catch is you have to use 24 hours of PTO before you can access sick bank.
Kid #2 is coming in June, I'm planning on taking...
I'm a PT, you'll be rucking around chasing elk this fall as long as no major complications pop up. If I ever have to get anything replaced give me a hip over a knee or shoulder any day of the week.
Rehab's generally not bad at all, get through those first 2 weeks and life will be good again...
I have a lite-outdoors one that works fine. I probably would've went with the SO version had I redone it though. The cylinder stove is a pain in the ass to put together but it is super light. Something you can use for spike camp but you're not setting it up and taking it down everyday.
