Lightening Ascents appear to receive praise for functioning well in almost all conditions. I have zero interest in using snowshoes on any type of used or groomed trails. Never understood the purpose of that. I can cover much more ground with my hiking boots. These will be used solely in the...
So one of the legs on my benro tripod pulled out completely today. The stop failed. I took a functioning leg apart to see what was going on. The good leg had a thin plastic shim. The one that failed did not. I did a temporary fix by making a shim from duct tape. But that will not work long...
I have Hoffmans. They used to run 100 bucks less than schnees. Identical from what I could tell. My wife had schnees, only because they made one that was shall enough. Love my hoffmans. I use the thinsulate liners because they provide a better fit and I will hike in them.
Yup. Kowa 88, android, scopecam adapter. The company that makes the adapter is out of utah. The quality is incredible. Check them out.
We also have an adapter for our nikon mirrorless camera. Takes incredible pics.
Now I'm considering a magnifier. The kowa 88 provides incredible quality...
Who was the new hunter? Was the quality shot in the ass? I'm lost regarding the original post, as well as the question.
Can someone hook me up with the dude eating popcorn meme?
Can you explain what you mean by hip pain? Are you talking about something pinching or rubbing, or is it more a muscular/circulation type pain?
If it's the latter then I believe it can be fixed with training. I'm 56 years old. I get over 50 lbs and my hips will start to bother me after a...
I just realized that I could add an extender to my 88. Are any of you using one and what are the pluses and minuses? I am using my scope for the range and digiscoping, in addition to hunting. In particular I was wondering if it would be very helpful to have for photographing wildlife. Thank...
I have the narrowest heels and smallest ankles on the planet. Schnees beartooth fits great. The lace loops near the top are basically touching, but it's all good.
Lacing is key. Play around with it. I lace normal but every lace hook at the ankle and above gets a half hitch. Locks me in...
Also, regarding range use. Heat distortion becomes an issue and it will only get worse with bigger magnification. I don't think you will gain anything regarding the range.
This is very helpful. I have been debating a lighter spotter for those longer treks. Kowa 55 and lighter tripod was the thought. I have the 88. It is amazing glass. Between your observations and some other threads, I'm just gonna lug the 88. I can see a rock the size of a football from two...
