I believe the bullet weight is the sweetspot for 308. I am reloading and shooting 168 grain with my 308 and getting very nice results. I am guessing, but I think your results should be more consistent because you will have less air space in the cartridge with that bullet and a 308. I think...
Interesting. I am in the process of finding a cartridge for predator hunting next year. I am leaning toward 223 or 22-250. I was thinking bullets in the 55 grain range. I like the 22-50 but I think access to 223, even as a reloader, is probably easier.
If you are buying on the dips then you are leaving money on the table. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can time the market. It is well proven that putting your money in and feeding the beast consistently wins all the time.
Everybody can make money when the market is hot. Yes, even a hampster...
Lazy eye all my life. I'm sure you can relate..... the lazy eye basically only helps with your peripheral vision. I cannot even make it who is standing 30 feet from me with the bad eye. I use a bino and that lazy eye helps with getting a wider FOV. Think about it this way; are you walking...
Someone reacted to this post so I had to re-read what I wrote. It's been 9 months since I wrote this. So what has changed? Well, we did what I was thinking about in my last paragraph. We are done. Retired. This covid bull$hit was the last straw. Sold the house in Massachusetts for way too...
I have a .22, 38/357 and 45-70 lever actions. I would hate to have to narrow it down to one :)
The 22 is just plain fun but not a hunting gun.
The 38/357 is absolutely marvelous. It's accuracy out to 100 yards or so with just iron sights always amazes me. The 38 feels like shooting a 22...
I retired in April, moved the family to Montana and have zero regrets. Bored? You have to be kidding. The problem I am running into is that time is going to quickly. It is scary as to how fast time is flying by. I got suckered into a part time gig working remotely, doing what I did in a...
My every day pack is my SG5900. Not nearly as light as my Osprey Exo, but the comfort trumps weight for me. I have been using it all summer hiking into the mountains on day trips pursuing cutthroat trout. It compresses beautifully and does not flop around as I stumble on the rocks. Then on...
My family and I are one month into living in Livingston MT. I came from Massachusetts. I don't know where to even begin. We seriously downsized/simplified. I went from living in a town and neighborhood that had homes ranging from $750K to over a million (mine was the runt of the neighborhood...
I read somewhere that this can be an effective way to do it. I watched a guy just hold the brass in his hands. The minute it started to get hot to hold it was done. I forgot how many times he was able to fire the same brass, but it was impressive.
You already know this but it needs to be stated; the crowds are next level. I do not believe it has ever been this bad. So bring your patience. I'm assuming you have your accommodations squared away, otherwise you are sleeping in a car somewhere where the rangers won't nail you.
Getting off...
I use them on my hunting saddle setup. They are nice and convenient. I was looking for something a bit more secure, with zippers for this. For $17 for the pair I took the plunge :) Came last night. I am pleasantly surprised. Fits nice and snug and has some separation panels on the inside...
Has anyone tried anything like this on the hip belts of their packs? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072TSZCHG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thinking it will work great with my SG pack. At $17 for two, it would be a rippin' deal.
