Thank you for the explanation.
When I have used my 6.5CM (143g Eldx or 140g TGK), I have always gotten a small entrance wounds with much larger exits.
@Waldo320 glad you got a nice deer.
I need a new scope for a new rifle I bought. The Amplus has everything I want in terms of features for a hunting scope. But, I won't be scaling mountains or hanging around in artic conditions.
Does anyone have experience with the Leica?
I was looking at a Swaro Z5, but reviews are mixed...
I used a MDT XRS chassis for my cheap 6 ARC and I worked great. The loading from the AR style magazine was outstanding.
The Field Stock sells for $299 and is lighter than my XRS.
MDT usually have a Black Friday sale on seconds.
I get your point, but most adults aren't going to get beat up by a 6.5CM enough to make a shot stressful. Without a can or brake, the 6.5CM can be shot all day accurately. With a can on it and in a typical deer rifle, a 6.5CM is a real pussy cat.
For a little recoil, we get roughly two times...
I am looking for a similar scope as OP except my 2nd choice is a Zeiss V4. I even ordered the NF, but cancelled before it shipped.
The only thing holding me back is the lack of an exposed turret option. I would rather dial than use a reticle for longer shots.
I don't want a heavy scope...
I bought a Tikka 223. I managed to get a couple boxes of 69g TMK bullets to load up.
While I will do more testing after the season, I want to test one powder in one range session in hopes of getting decent velocity and accuracy (Moment of Deer at <250 yds). I don't have the time to do much...
I have a X-bolt Mountain Pro in 6.8 Western. It is extremely light for a gun having a 24" barrel. Without my suppressor, it kicks like a mule.
If you go with a larger round, I would get a heavier version of the rifle.
I have not become a Kool-Aid drinker, but I am willing to tasted test.
1) Tikka T3X in 223
2) Starline Brass + 69g TMk bullets
Anything else I need to test the Kool-Aid?
