I must admit I was skeptical of the MTNTOUGH online program. My background was primarily bodybuilding/ strength training (12-30); then more endurance focused on Triathlons and Adventure racing (30-42); eventually stumbling upon...
There are laws on the books in some states that pertain to transporting the animals head across state lines. Has something to do with CWD. Also, be aware of the Lacey Act. What would only amount to an infraction/ ticket in one state, can become a federal felony simply by breaking the law in one...
T the OP:
I read your post, and just wanted to say thank you for posting. I definitely learned a thing or three! I have been hunting D5 since I was 12. I have taken some monsters out of places no one else hunts (never seen another hunter). It’s just not an easy place to be, but it has some...
I recently purchased the Col 4800 for shorter hunts/ fishing trips. I put it to the test the other day hiking approximately 24 miles over a three day period, with a total elevation gain of approximately 4000 feet. The pack had 42 pounds in it to start.
The pack was plenty big enough for...
Likely buying the STX eyepiece with 95 mm objective, and ME 1.7 magnifier, tomorrow morning. System to be used for glassing from the road.
Any recommendations on the BTX eyepiece?
Any recommendation on the 115mm objective?
This won’t be for backpack hunting.
When I first read this I thought you wished your wife would die… Lol, then I read it again and figured it was the freezer, and probably not your wife. 😬
Listened to the article you posted. This Paul Singer, and others like him sound really evil. I’m a Republican, but this guy’s hostile investment strategy makes my blood boil. 😡
Thanks for posting!
I had woman ask me once what I was hunting. When I told her bear, she became irate and went to inform me that hunting bears was against the law in this state. When I informed her I had a bear tag, she insisted it was not allowed and told me how she knew that for a fact!
I left her on the trail...
The harder they have been, the better. I get something good from being cold, tired and exhausted packing out a harvest. Not sure why, but thats when I feel the most alive. I’m sure others can attest to the same feeling. Its why I train hard, and eat clean.
The wife and I were there May/June and thought the same. The locals referred to Bozman as “BozAngeles.”
Im looking to move to either Nevada, Idaho, Montana, or Wyoming when I retire. My first choice is Wyoming, a good ways east of Jackson.
Though it would be cool to have a thread for pictures of old-timers hunting. In a day when so much money is being spent on “modern equipment and camo clothing,” what did the “old timers” use and wear..
This is a picture taken in 1944. Its my dad (right), and my grandfather (left). The rifle...
Glock 27 .40 cal with Federal Premium 180 grain HST.
Killed a good size black bear with a G27 a few years ago. Shot placement is more important than type of weapon used. Like others have said, nothing can replace quality training with whatever weapon you take. Shooting competitively improves...
Thanks. Just finished listening to the podcast.
Ill just say to those that are doing this program that adding a Concept 2 Rower and a SkiErg to your home gym is money well spent. I’ve owned both for years now and it’s definitely nice being able to mix it up with running.
You mentioned...
