Thermocell and snakeboots!!! Don’t leave home without them. There are a few wmas with really good turkey populations, but you will spend years waiting to draw a permit. The easy to draw permits are pretty heavily pounded.
Feet are coming along. I managed 5.3 miles last night with 46# and although my feet were uncomfortable they never screamed at me and today they feel fine.
If you go with the viper be sure to verify you like the eyerelief. I have the viper 3.5-10 and the eye relief is right on the edge of being to close on top of my .270. And that win mag would have a bit more thump.
Thanks I’m mixing stairs in my routine 3 times a week but at half of whatever weight I am hiking with that week. I got an RX from the doc for Daimox to help with the altitude. He suggested a custom orthodic, but it’s nearly the price I paid for my Crispis. He said there isn’t a ton I...
Hey guys another question. I seem to have found a plateau I can’t seem to get past. If I get over 40# for 4 miles the balls of my feet are killing me. I got a set of SOF sole inserts for my Crispis and that helped a lot last night. I did 46# for 4.05 miles but around mile 3 the ball on...
All of my hunting rifles are at 2# except the one that is not adjustable and it is up for an upgrade soon. My one target rifle is 1lbs, 2oz. As everyone else has stated this is a very personal question. I did try running one of my hunting rifles down near 1.5# and I didn't like it.
Been nuts here in Lakeland since Thursday. I had to laugh. I was in Wally World picking up a movie the kid has been wanting. And I see a bunch of people with carts slam full of water. And I’m looking at most of them and you can tell they live on coke or Pepsi and probably haven’t had...
Yep 10 days at camp last year. Same top same bottom. It was absolutely funky by the end but my alternate got reallocated to my brother who was freezing his butt off.
Following along. Last year was my first year using Onx and it is incredibly useful in the swamps of fl. Being able to navigate flat land via the sat view makes life super simple. THe offline mode works great since most of the time I have no signal in the bigger WMAs. It's really nice...
No 4 day blind hunts for the most part. I love the challenge of hitting a new WMA or two a year. With good scouting I’d expect you to do well at either. I wanted to hit Pine log last year, but didn’t have time and had to turn my permit in. Be sure to check the transitions were...
I’ve hunted big bend and Aucilla. I wouldn’t consider them premium tags, but I saw deer in both. Passed on two young bucks my last time at Aucilla a few years ago. And saw does at big bend. Lots of hogs at big bend in and around the cabbage palm hammocks.
I'm not saying every hunter in those two states are bad that's why i didn't mention the names of the states, what I'm saying is those are the states that locals dread and I have had issues with.
It's hit and miss for me. I am an OOS in KY every year and CO this year. In FL I rarely run into an OOS hunting public land (very Rarely). But in KY it definitely seems to depend on what state they are from. I'm not going to mention states, but there are two that I have had many...
