I made it with Kee Klamps and chain link fence top rail from home depot, I think 1 5/8" diameter. https://www.simplifiedbuilding.com/pipe-fittings/kee-klamp. The allen-head bolts on the kee klamps are course threaded and honestly don't hold too well, so I drilled divots into the rails for the...
I actually built a solid floor with a 6" foam noodle "keel" vs. the inflatable floor. Bought side stringers and other parts from an inflatable boat parts company. Coated the wood with many layers of spar varnish and sealer and put gription tape in most places. Just wanted a little more depth...
Thanks for sharing, Yukon C. That 18' looks to dwarf the 15'. Great information and it looks like you use these about 99% more than most mere mortals!
I made a rowing frame for mine and tied the transom to it, top and bottom, with rod ends and other crazyness just to give confidence that it...
I just remembered this one seemingly on the move to the Wolverine state:

Didn't vote because I can't confirm, however:
About 30 years ago driving late at night, brights blazing, going East on Interstate 90 outside of Livingston, saw what I thought was a bear cub eating on a road kill. I slowed down and started to pull over for a better look, thought for sure it was...
I replied to your later post first, but would also like to look into a longtail vs. jet for running up rivers. Price is right.
Didn't use my Kaboat once this year and it's the one 'outdoor' thing I wish I did much more of. Just fun, simple, works and easy to put in/take out solo.
Would...
Just on lakes in Montana. It's definitely not like a Lund or other fish/ski boat but the price is right! If I had a jet, would be running up the Yellowstone and Missouri.
Would love to hear about going to 15 to 18'.
It's especially nice when they come over and offer their expert advice when you weren't asking and you did everything you could to ignore them. That's when you know that they know, and they know that you know that they know.
We have a Bosch that's 14 years and still operating, FWIW. Maybe the new ones suck, but ours has been great. Main issue on ours have been not leaving a ton of crud on what goes in to the dishwasher and the total cheapness/garbage drain hose out the back of the dishwasher that goes into the...
I keep reading that we might meet again. No clue how the brackets work, but it seems possible and if the Cats don't change something in a serious way, could be a loooooong game. Griz should have home field all the way to the end.
Crow tastes bad, is tough to chew and gives me the runs, but...
That's a beauty and a great pic. I have a few DIY packrafts including a two person for larger loads. They have their place and it's nice to "pack" a packraft for mobility, but no packraft is going to come close to handling the abuse that a Pristine Ventures Cork or PR49 can handle.
Is the...
What kind of monster are you!!??!! There's only a conclusion to this story if you believe in one - which is counter to keeping this story, thread and memes alive. The post-per-day count is going down and this needs to be fixed pronto.
It's way past time to manufacture some conspiracy theories...
IMHO, wheels make the trek so much nicer. They're obviously not made to go over anything except smooth surfaces, even a bit of sand or gravel and they're useless. Just not made for that, but airports they're great.
If they bust off through cheapness or rough handling, then rent a cart.
