That's a beauty and a great pic. I have a few DIY packrafts including a two person for larger loads. They have their place and it's nice to "pack" a packraft for mobility, but no packraft is going to come close to handling the abuse that a Pristine Ventures Cork or PR49 can handle.

Is the ski pole for pushing through low water areas?

Ski pole is for shleeping my old azz around.shallow water, just get out and push/pull
