So maybe this has been discussed and I missed it, but this bull showed up in someone’s back yard in CO this morning. The picture hit social media here locally and the anti’s are having a field day with it of course. There is also a lot of debate (mostly by folks who have no idea what they are...
Either way the best shot at stopping it is to vote. Talk to family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, whomever about the issue and convince them to VOTE! (preferably against...)
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s on the ballot either way. What might keep it off is if they can prove the pack out of Craig and maybe North Park represent a viable population and therefore they don’t need to be reintroduced.
Yeah, I sort of felt you were losing more and more credibility every time you posted again. Thanks for making it easier to disregard your entire line of opinion. The rest of this is a good discussion though...
If someone went down to the county courthouse for three hours to research tax maps, and someone spent three hours swinging a sledgehammer to earn $30 to pay for OnX, would you still say the fellow at the courthouse has “worked harder” for and is therefore more entitled to that same information?
I’ve been following this story and thread passively. Didn’t feel too strongly either way until now. Agreed with most of the comment line on ‘glad to see the money going to conservation etc.’ and ‘to each his own’. Maybe I just didn’t understand what these situations are actually like. Now...
I’ll second IanCOLO on this one. The blowdown rate in 14 has been skyrocketing for the past 5 years or so. Makes sense really. 14 was basically the epicenter for the whole pine beetle epidemic after the Routt Divide Blowdown (I’ll skip the politics on how this all could have been prevented...
I have mixed feelings here. I hunt 14 every year, and have since 2006 when I moved to Colorado for college. CPW helped to create the crowding there in the first place, as at that time they were advertising it along with a few other units as “recommended” due to tag availability and ease of...
You summed it up in the first three words. ‘In YOUR OPINION’. Look I don’t like public posting of specifics either, but in this country people are free to make their own moral choices (within the bounds of the law and constitution). What you are advocating for here is censorship, in talking...
Not to sound like a broken record but go with the Copper Spur. Fly Creek has a single center roof pole which creates a steep point over most of the tent. Dramatically reduces head room and livability. Also super annoying after awhile with your head rubbing on it when you sit up.
I use the Cooper Spur. I love it. I have two actually, UL1 and UL2 depending on what I’m doing. Never had any problems with wind. It holds steady (within reason), especially if all of the guy-lines are out. Has been great in wet weather as well. Highly recommended.
I have to disagree with you there. It’s an ethics question for sure, but your thoughts are in fact yours to do with as you please. This is what the whole idea of intellectual property is. Now, weather you found a spot on your own or were told about it by another definitely adds to the ethical...
There are pros and cons to both I’d say. Both are pretty decent systems in terms of signal strength and reliability. I have never failed to acquire a signal in reasonable time with either one (SPOT on the other hand is a different story!) It depends what you think you will do with it mostly...
Phone plus inReach for sure. The garmin earthmate app will pair the inReach to your phone so you can text from it, if need be, through the inReach system without ever having to touch it. And run your mapping platform simultaneously. It was a real game changer for me
I agree. Used to love them both individually, now both seem to have gone downhill since the merger. Cabelas in particular. Online and stores. And yet, I can’t help myself from going into the store any time I am near one. Haha, not sure what that says about me
