I have a short barreled .308. I’ve always been a heavy for caliber guy. I shoot 200’s in my .300 win mag and 178’s in my .308.
With that, I’m thinking about going to the 155’s in .308. I’m in the camp you don’t need a certain amount of energy. I’m more in the camp of minimum expansion...
Pretty impressive though I don’t think are in same league as Tikka. Impressed by the weight and threaded barrel at that price point. Glad to see the bolt locks now too. I’d assume the cerakote is cheap and would wear.
If these were in stock in a .300 win mag, I might buy one instead of a...
Back in 21 it took me about 10 months. i did another one in late 23 and it only took 2/3 months…but I was denied because silencer central did the paperwork wrong. It got resubmitted and I’m still waiting. All eform 4.
What made me go down this path is last year I had my Savage 111 LRH in .300 wm (like 8.9 lbs), vortex hst 6-24x50 (guessing 28oz without looking), and my can (12.5 oz). It was not very fun to pack around or take off hand shots.
I agree it’s not worth the squeeze, just something to do. It seems...
I don’t have a target weight honestly. I haven’t shot a .300 at that weight before. I have shot my .308 that is similar weight but it had my can on it.
Optic will probably be vx3 hd 4.5-14x50 (16 ounces) And my omega 36m (12.5 oz)
Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.
As far as shooting with authority, I’m getting it threaded for my can. Suppressors reduce recoil quite a bit.
Just ordered a t3x lite in .300 win mag for $735 shipped.
I am looking at lightening it further. What recommendations do you have?
Fluting the barrel and bolt might shave a few oz’s.
I understand the factory stock weighs 28oz’s and you can buy aftermarket stocks that weigh all the weigh...
$800 ish give or take. Only specific need is something that doesn’t weigh a ton. Hoping around 7lbs. Threaded would be a bonus but not a deal breaker.
I have a savage 111 lrh that I’m selling and with my scope and silencer, it really sucks to carry around or make off hand shots.
