Ruger has posted some big game calibers coming to their Gen II Predator line, but I haven't seen much discussion about this.

What's everyone's thoughts on these? Cold hammer forged, threaded, and cerakoted barrel, three position safety, extra foregrip stud for a pic rail mount, and listed at 6.6 lbs seems like a pretty decent value for $729 MSRP.

Are the triggers and actions good enough on these to jump past a Tikka for all the other added features as a mountain rifle?

Pretty impressive though I don’t think are in same league as Tikka. Impressed by the weight and threaded barrel at that price point. Glad to see the bolt locks now too. I’d assume the cerakote is cheap and would wear.

If these were in stock in a .300 win mag, I might buy one instead of a Tikka, but I’m a cheap ass. Also depends what retail $$$ would be.

I'm nearing 1k rounds through mine and haven't had any issues with the cerakote wearing and mine rides in my truck's passenger seat daily. For the price point I've been very happy with the purchase.
223 caliber
My only complaint is how flexible the foreend is when loading the bipod. At some point I'll toss it in the work bench and bed/stiffen that foreend.
