I prefer a traditional turkey vest. I don't want backpacks, I don't want satchels, I don't want hip packs, I don't want minimalist Sitka Vests, I don't want modular vests endorsed by YouTube, and it doesn't need to look like I'm part of a swat team. Give me a good solid pad to sit on, a little...
I use a saddle on two 870s. They are strictly turkey guns and I'd prefer drill and tap but the local guy that I talked to wouldn't do it, said there wasn't enough metal. I know better but don't want someone doing it that clearly doesn't want to. Drilling and tapping a shotgun isn't normal...
It is an old Preston Pittman .660. I don't recall them but best I can tell is they were manufactured through some connection with Stardot.
I'll put some lead and TSS both through her to see what I think once the weather clears up some here.
They are rios then. All subspecies have a range of color. If you are far enough east for an Eastern hybrid then that is possible with top fan. I would consider bottom fan a classic Rio fan. It would be on the very dark end of Merriam's and considering south Texas, it's a Rio.
Where were you hunting? One looks Rio, the other looks Rio/Eastern hybrid. If that's the case and they were together, they are both hybrid with one displaying more Rio characteristics than the other.
Removed the saddle and put 860/1187 pins in that I had but had to do some digging to find. There's a little wear on the finish due to metal on metal contact but I was expecting it.
The weather hasn't been nice enough to shoot but hopefully that'll change. March weather is always a toss up here.
Overall, no issues and I'll continue using it.
The app crashed on me at some point last spring the morning of a hunt and wouldn't open. I emailed FWP early before anyone was around and went ahead and hunted. They emailed me mid morning and said it had happened a few times with Android phones...

LC 3616 should be converted to a bill soon if not already. The draft language is there if not.
You have to appreciate turkey guns to appreciate this. These are difficult to come by. Remington made them from 1993 to 1997. It's an 1187 12 ga. mag. Special Purpose Turkey 21" barrel in original Mossy Oak Greenleaf. I was not looking for another gun and have never actively looked for one...
Montana has the potential to be changing our Nonresident upland license to 14 consecutive days only or two 7 day blocks only. Bill is in the works. Just in case that has any affect on your plans.
I think some of the LC (legislative concepts) that don't have anything more than a general description could turn out to be anything. However, they don't have an endless amount of time to make it to committee then the floor.
Last time I bought an out of state vehicle was on a visit back to Southern Illinois. They couldn't believe that I didn't have to pay sales tax until they looked into it.
For the most part, it's the bridge ends that are a problem. The bridge is on a deep foundation of some sort that rarely moves/settles while the approach is likely a significant amount of fill/embankment that does settle.
There can be several things going on with the embankment. We have in...
