Interested in this. I took a class last year with Defensive Edge and it was great. Huge help on so many things. Hope to hear some opinions on this as a online learning lesson.
I voted 280AI. I really like mine, but my dad has a 30/06 AI that is a hell of rifle. I enjoy shooting them both.

Honestly, my K2 fits me better than my K3. Both carry weight very well. Not sure how to describe it but my K2 just seems like a nicer fit overall. Never carried over 115# in either. 30-65# most of the trips in use.
Thanks for posting!
We all hear the bad, and gripe about the bad. But (myself included) don't give enough to the good and great things we do receive or witness of others who help.
Good to you and the one who offered the help!!
I think I would choose optics. Why? All the PITA options to get new brass, powder, bullets and the rest of components currently for a rifle.
But I always enjoy the loading and shooting of a new rifle development.......
Sorry for not much help....
This thread is getting extensive.
I do believe in taking what your comfortable with and making good decisions on your choice of shot taken. I have killed a elk with a 25/06 and 300 win Mag, 300wsm . I have not shot anything with the 257 Wby (I do want one though) . If I get to choose my rifle...
Hmmm, tough one here. I like Kimber AAA, Copper, Dakota newer wood rifles.
But if really thinking classic, maybe a Savage 99, Winchester Model 70 or 88, or why not another Remington 7600, 760, 762???? Weatherby has always had some nice looking wood also?
