Evening all,

I find myself at a bit of a crossroads. I have the means right now to upgrade my spotter setup from a Nikon ED50 to a Swaro ATS and better tripod, or I could get a nice rifle (I’m thinking maybe a Fierce Fury or CA) topped with either a Nightforce SHV or Vortex Razor LHT. Currently my rifle is a Winchester model 670 that I bought off my uncle about 25 years ago.
I already have top tier binos and the rest of my gear is exactly what I’m wanting. I primarily bow hunt anymore, mostly because those are the OTC tags I can get but I still rifle hunt quite a bit as well. It’s an apples and oranges thing for sure, and I just need to talk it through.

That's a tough one.
How lob before you could do the other option?

I think I would choose optics. Why? All the PITA options to get new brass, powder, bullets and the rest of components currently for a rifle.
But I always enjoy the loading and shooting of a new rifle development.......
Sorry for not much help....

In my opinion a gun is a gun. Most guns shoot bad due to operator error. I shoot lights out with a 300$ Ruger American. Optics are a different story. Go with the spotter.
