    I'm an idiot. Thanks!

I reckon. I just used a bolt from a DNZ mount I have and am not using.

regardless of the comments, the point remains. If you place a pin in the unthreaded rear portion, you can’t use sportsmatch rings and still cycle your bolt, barring a mistake on my part.

    I can jump, son.

That’s true, I see it now

This was my work around for a tikka/scope combo that I thought needed a axial stop where the integrated sportsmatch pin won’t work. Screw came from a mount I’m not using.

Sounds great in theory, how do you insure they both have contact?

@Castle Rock I appear to have approached this differently than you. I used the unthreaded hole, but I don’t see a way to fit a sportsmatch ring between it and the bolt… Based on a pin here, the bolt won’t clear/function. What are you doing differently?

If you go back to post #2112 you'll see where that came from.

@Castle Rock I assume you threaded the pin? Say yes. Or is that a hole that's not tapped?

I really like @Castle Rock 's work around. I see that in my future on the one tikka I have set up that doesn't utilize the recoil pin.

@Lawnboi The two lots of Lapua 223 brass I have appear to have significantly less case capacity than all the range pickup I have. Those lapua lots are probably 3-5 years old. Have you seen the same?

How many people are actually wearing their lightweight synthetic membraned jackets while moving in the field? How do you manage to keep them free of holes and tears? Who isn't dripping on the inside when you have to wear it while moving?

I won't admit how much money and time I've wasted chasing consistent muzzle velocity in 223. I have to actively remind myself that within the ranges I shoot it, it doesn't really matter.

Same here. They're fine for my model cheek bones.

I stand corrected. I've got my 5-20 in Sportsmatch rings on a creedmoor without the pin that I'll have to watch now.

@Antares I second sticking with the factory stock. Mine wore a Bravo for a while, but the benefit didn't outweigh the crazy handiness and smooth feeding of the factory stock. I also would second the 6x over the 10x. I have both. Are you saying the scope can't come further rearward or that...
