That is such an awesome shot^^
For me, on first glance it looks like a mountain lake. Then upon looking closer at the twisted and curved trees near the shoreline, looks like possibly an African jungle lake with the high peaks in the distance. Then upon looking closer still at those "trees" you...
"As a sidebar, for those who dream of being on brand X “pro-staff”, “pro” is not short for professional it’s an abbreviation for promotional"
That's one of the most spot on things I've heard in a while.
I laugh about at all the "pros" out there. Yeah, I have a guide's license and I get my...
In that price range and shooting distance you might want to check out the Burris Fullfield II line, many of which can be had for half of that price. Surprisingly decent quality for such a low price.
Only a cell phone pic again, but a little more clear. She actually tolerated me touching her tail feathers without leaving the nest, but I don't want to stress her so not going to any more.
A herniated disc L4 L5 will steer you off the road running, or at least it did for me. The pounding just wasn't worth it anymore. Substituting normal hiking, rucking, other cardio and and using my dual track tread-climber fills that gap nowadays. I can still get the work without that jarring action.
This is only a cell-phone pic, sorry it's not better quality. But this dove hen (called a hen?) has nested in one of our hanging ferns on the front porch, and is incredibly tolerant of me. This pic was taken holding the phone less than 12" from her. She's been sitting on two eggs for about 8 or...
You should have no problem getting everything you need for a 5day trip into a Metcalf. You can always strap you tent or other gear to the bottom if you can't manage to fit it all in the bag.
Also on a side note, naming unit #s (for even innocuous reasons) on this forum is generally frowned upon...
I'll 2nd the giant arborvitae. I have both giant arborvitae and leyland cypress. The giant arborviatea tend to be better at shedding snow, i.e not brekaing limbs under a heavy snow load. They tend to look nicer year round, and remain thick all the way through.
Also, although not impervious to...
Maybe his lawyer can file a motion for reconsideration of modification on his sentence, about halfway through paying of the fine. Still pays out 5K and by then has demonstrated his dedication to making amends and maye be let off the hook for the other 5K. By then a modification would be low key...
I'm looking to get a new warm weather backpacking pad.
For cool to cold weather, I have an Exped downmat XP9. It's very warm, albeit heavy and sometimes too warm, though I can adjust with peeling back my bag a little. But I love the thickness and the comfort and quality. Because of that comfort...
So I did order one of these. And now I'm going to order a few more. They turn a crappy plastic spill-everywhere-can into a reliable spill-free can. Almost like the good old steel cans I miss.
Thanks !!!
I'd strongly suggest this also. Worst you could hear in a 2nd opinion is the same thing you're already being told.
At 6 yo, my daughter's former cardiac surgeon advised the surgery she needed would require artificial pieces and would likely have poor outcomes. A 2nd opinion found a surgeon that...
I've really enjoyed doing it, this was my first year. Waited until it was pouring yesterday and shot in the rain, shot my 4th day this morning in the cold before work as opposed to afternoon after being on the move all day. Thinking maybe a shot from kneeling position tomorrow just to keep...
2023 Cold Bow Challenge

*started yesterday but couldn't get the time to load pics until today. I am using a paper plate to show hits from previous days as they happen to keep it honest.
My set-up, nothing super fancy here...

Thanks for the info and yeah that's sort of what I figured would happen in the rain. Running the awning out straight to cover that vestibule creates the rain trap I would normally avoid by tilting one of those support poles.
Did you find the vestibule did ok in strong wind? You mention it was...
I have a Kodiak 10x14 flexbow and I've been thinking of adding the vestibule wing. Searched this a little and saw a few things on it in some other threads, but I'm mainly wondering about wind resistance and how it fairs in weather. What made me think of this is that I had my flexbow out on a...
