    7 SAUM Hammer Bullet recommendation

I don't know how familiar you are with the differences between the Hunter and Absolute models. But just a note, the data isn't typically directly transferable. Combine that with the toughness of the ADG brass and if you are using a different brass, then you may see pressure as early as 200fps or...

    7 SAUM Hammer Bullet recommendation

New rifle, so barrel wasn't fully broken in, ADG brass new, Fed 215m primer @ 2.855" COAL H4350, I shot a ladder from 53.0g @ 2787fps to 63.5g @ 3290fps. I had some very mild flattening of the primer at 57.0g but no other pressure signs until a very faint ejector shadow at 63.0g and 63.5g, bolt...

Pics of Custom Seek Outside Packs

I cut the Revolution back panel as in the photo, bound the edges and then the webbing plus tensioner in order to tension the top piece of the panel down tightly onto the frame. With this modification the shoulder straps are never adjusted. If you want to change the stays, all you do is release...

    7 SAUM Hammer Bullet recommendation

I chose to use the 140AH in my 7saum w/22" barrel. Excellent results. Double lunged my sheep at 177yards and I thought I'd spined him from how fast/hard he dropped. No ribs or spine were touched. Final load was 3250fps with H4350. I had a decent node at 3300 - 3350fps with N550, but ran out...

    WTS/WTT Swarovski 12x50EL, trade for 8x32NL

1 year old pair of 12x50EL, excellent condition, beauty bino, all accessories and box included, Outdoorsman stud installed. I'd prefer to trade these for a pair of 8x32nl in comparable condition, plus cash. Only selling as I just don't use large bino's enough to justify the cash tied up in...

    308win and 137 hammer hunters

The results by Farleg were still typical Hammer, it was just the secondary damage via the nose petals wasn't up to his expectations. I was using then 124HH in my 308 and loads were with 8208xbr or H4895 as I recall, I'd be looking at Varget or similar speed powders

    Hammer bullets keyhole?

I'll bet you'd be extremely happy at the results of the 166HH at the speeds a 300wm would drive them at (3300-3400fps?). I've used the 152HH in a 308win on Bear and mule deer... fantastic results. I just put my sheep down with a 7saum, pushing the 140AH at 3250fps and it was like it was struck...

    Hammer bullets keyhole?

I've had several Hammer bullets that were right at the minimum recommend twist, produce weird wounding patterns on animals. IMO borderline or marginal in-flight stability does not relate to terminal stability within an animal. I didn't see any signs of instability on targets, so I thought I was...

Strategy for when there is no food

After a forest fire, the most consistent activity I see is within the interface area between the fire/new growth area and the untouched area.

Help me with Cheaper quilt and shelter ideas???

You could always buy used gear off the Classifieds and then sell it when you're done. You'll end up with higher quality gear and if you buy smart, it shouldn't cost you anymore then buying cheap.

    AK sheep hunt September clothing

Hunting in Northern BC, if I'm questioning the weather or my gear choice, then I add in a flat Apex quilt. It works when stationery and also as part of a sleep system. My 40 degree quilt weighs 1 pound and it keeps all the versatility of my early season gear, plus gives me abit of safety...

    .

Was forced to fly home from my recent sheep hunt instead of driving. Only flight I could get on bounced me thru 3 northern BC airports before I landed in Vancouver. Each airport was like a Kuiu/Gunwerks fashion show. It was comical. The hunters would all gravitate to each other, tell stories of...

    Leaving Kifaru?

I sold my last Kifaru, not because of the empty weight, but due to its' stiffness when empty. I personally found it exhausting still hunting or bashing thru brush with what felt like a sheet of plywood and 20lbs strapped to my back. I'd advise anyone to try a number of frames before investing...

    Best bullet for 6.5 creedmoor

Oh ya. I'll be working up a load for Spring Bear for the 99 grain HH in my Rem260. Each season I seem to drop a weight class with the Hammer Hunters and results have only improved. The increased stability and increased velocity of the smaller bullets seem to have a much greater impact to...

    Drilling Seek Outside Carbon Poles

You can do it. High quality, sharp bits are the key. I dont remember off the top of my head, but there is a specific grind that is best. Maybe research for best carbon fiber drill bits.

    Best bullet for 6.5 creedmoor

Try some of the light for caliber Hammer Hunters. They are fantastic bullet at normal weights and their performance only improves with lighter weight bullets.

    parking for a sheep hunt

Just watch out for porcupines up there. I caught one eyeing up my car. One had already destroyed the brake lines in a Tacoma about 5km away and a Sierra had its wiring harness nibbled on. It's apparently a $2000 tow back to Fort Nelson.
