Deer are fickle creatures - Why would it bypass food?

So I am set up yesterday on a small food plot the wildlife commission put in a back corner of a small parcel after they allowed it to be logged. I am sitting in some mixed sparse old pine and oaks. East of me is a nice dense young cedar/pine thicket. South of me is a shallow draw which has mixed...

Recovering Arrows... If this keeps up bullets are cheaper! :)

Two shots, two kills. First one only ran 40 yards but it was in deep CRP, brush and briars (like nearly 6' deep). The second went a few hundred through woods, a creek basin, etc... Neither case have I seen hide nor hair (pun intended) of my arrow. Granted my arrows don't have wraps on them -...

Temp D Loop, Shoot, then do a perm nock point??

Ok... I feel like I am missing something here... How do you shoot a bow with no peep 150x? How do you put a nock in if the timing is off (since it will change the nock point)? For a new bow, new strings I thought the setup tune was: 1. set draw length 2. Validate draw length (which I can do on...

Temp D Loop, Shoot, then do a perm nock point??

Several source I have been reading reference shooting a bow with a temp d loop on it before determining the nocking point and tying in your peep and d loop permanently. Is this a good idea or not... If it is a good idea what do you do about a peep, or do you shoot it without a peep just up close...

Bow Screws... Sizes and Where to buy

I think the bin was mixed. It is 10-24. I think someone had slipped 10-32's in it. Only place I could find them looked like a hurricane came through it.

Bow Screws... Sizes and Where to buy

Looks like 10-24 for sight bolts isn't correct. The 10-24s I just bought are a finer thread density than the ones in it. Mission bow, so I am guessing it should be standard.

Bow Screws... Sizes and Where to buy

So I am putting some parts on a bow and missing some screws. Rest - I know its 5/16-24 size, but what length? Sight Size - 10-24 but what length? I have seen some 5/16-24 bolts labeled as "fine" I thought the "24" part was the thread density? Am I mistaken? What's the preferred or better...

Thank you Roksliders ... and others.

First and foremost, thank you Roksliders... Sincerely from the bottow of my heart. Thank you for inspiring me, mentoring me, and kicking me in the ding dang on my journey to becoming a bow hunter. Thank you. I didn't start hunting early in life like a lot of you. I haven't been doing this, but...

Bow Set Decided... Now the many questions of set up...

Was that the Hamskea Hunter Pro or Trinity Hunter Pro? Do you know if for either different year models are different. Amazon has the Hunter Pro for the low "100s" while Hamskea site they are pushing 200. Hamskea doesn't post the product codes (like amazon) so its hard to tell if it is apples to...

Bow Set Decided... Now the many questions of set up...

As some of you who have read my previous post know, I was trying to put together an East/West/Mutual Backup Bow set that I outlined in this post here on Rokslide: https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/which-would-you-pick-replacing-my-bows.190708/#post-1844459 I finally decided and pulled the...

    Peep Hell

See other posts but took a Mission Ballistic 2.0 down and restrung/recabled it (cable yoke fraying). When I went to put my peep back in, bow was it hell to get right. I finally have it set and tied, but it is still turned slightly. A few questions... 1. What is the best way to get a peep in...

Strung, Nocked, Peeped... Next? Building a great shooting bow.

Mission Ballistic 2.0 (whatever relevance that will have). Took it apart to restring it fully, clean it and get the draw length correct. Cables and strings on, the cam cycle and timing is right. Tied my nock points and d loop with my arrow squared through berger hole. Put in a peep and got it...
