I've got several rifles buy I want a lightweight (6lbs max bare rifle) and a long range (heavier for ease of shooting round after round).
For the long range, I want the 7 prc. I've considered building it out myself with a prefit barrel or the Seekins PH2. I'd like a finished weight of about...
This is a simple question . . I feel. The elk season is roughly a week later this year in Oregon.. 4 weeks long. . all of September essentially. It usually ends the 3rd week of September and that's your best bet for weather and rut activity. Right now my group of guys are planning on going the...
It was on one of their Inner Circle talks. I don't remember when they said it was going to be released. I think the video is out there but most of the talk was about something else. It was probably at the same time they announced the new Ultra Down LT.
I'm waffling between so many options. At this point I just want a lightweight gun and I'm starting to consider a 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm looking at 4 options in either 6.5 Creed or PRC.
-- Seekins Havak Element - Love what I'm seeing. I just wish it had an Arca/Pic rail.
-- Building my own. I'm very...
I do have one. I might look into a shorter stock to put on it for him to shoot. I already have some Barnes X loaded up that would work for bear I suppose.
I wouldn't call them wide but they do not taper. I'd call them straight. Kuiu, in general, fits slimmer. I'd say these are no exception but they are not their most slim fitting pant.
Got it.
Yeah, but it's really light compared to a 30'06 which is what I shot. It's even lighter than many of the 308 based cartridges. I'm not going to have him shoot bear and deer with a .223 I don't think.
I'm looking at either of these for my son in 6.5 Creedmoor in a couple of years when he turns 9. I would use it some but I wanted something lightweight with low recoil that he can handle. Thoughts on either of these? I figured I couldn't go wrong with either. Both have adjustable lengths of...
Again, I appreciate the offer and may take you up on it. Would you say that the results, whether objective or subjective, are still good when doing it yourself? That'd be another concern for me is getting done with it and it shoots a 2" group.
I appreciate it. I might have to take you up on it. I'm thinking right now I might just buy an action and start piecing things together as time goes on. I'd love to keep things under $2,500 but I'm not sure if that's very possible.
So now you have me watching videos like this but I don't have vice and all the tools required. . but more importantly. . I don't think I trust myself to not screw something up. The install of the action to the barrel is what scares me the most.
Can you buy the action with the barrel already...
What barrel? Is there anything wrong with the one they come with? Wouldn't chopping off 4" of a superlite get me there? I don't think the fluting starts for about 5 or 6".
So I like this idea the only thing is I have a tight timeframe. Measure 114 here in Oregon might be moving forward again in September and it will be impossible, or a big hassle to buy a firearm. What portion of a build is considered the firearm on a bolt action? The action itselft, right? I'm...
