.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I read that book shortly after I bought my swift completely unknowing that he had used one. I was thrilled when I read about his use and love for it. Now just think how much bullets and powder have improved since then...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I haven't tried the Gameking or the Gold dots (yet!) but they are both on my list. an acquaintance has urged me to try 55 grain Nosler ballistic tips after having used it on deer with good results so thats the next experiment. So far the 55 grain Hornadys and both 52-53 Matchkings have been...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

They are a sweet little bullet. They act a lot more like a bonded bullet than you'd expect. Hornady does make a SP SX which is supposed to be much more explosive. I dont buy them though so unsure of the real difference.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I may have posted this on other threads and unsure if how much its been discussed but I do want to make a post regarding some lighter bullets as well. Other posters have certainly made the great case for heavier stuff like the .22 77 TMK, I wanted to reassure anyone you can still have really...

    Weatherby has forsaken it 270

You can find it on gunbroker if you check every so often. I reload for it now.

Weatherby is circling the toilet bowl

Not a lot of loadings for a 6.5 PRC and 100 grain bullets.

You are definitely right. We are talking mere inches all said and done.

Weatherby is circling the toilet bowl

Weatherby isn't doing everything right by a long shot, but calling the classics irrelevant is mis-guided in my opinion. I'm a hunter first and foremost. Hunting is dynamic and Weatherby cartridges are forgiving. I'm pretty good estimating ranges out to about 450. I like having the ability to...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Has anyone messed with the 75 grain Swift Sirocco? Or the 62 grain? Yay for speed.

Weatherby is circling the toilet bowl

The new Fudd is a kid with a plastic chassis, camo rifle and a carbon fiber barrel. He is shooting a fancy PRC cartridge and Hornady ELD-X, a hushin flatbill and a full kit of Firstlite. He will take any shot from 100-800 yards though the range he zero'd his rifle on only goes to 100. He has...

Weatherby is circling the toilet bowl

^^This right here. I would love if they would make heirloom quality rifles again. The influencer, plastic rifles are soulless. update their cartridges with new bullets and their rifles with new twist rates. A .240 bee with a fast twist would be awesome, ditto on the .257. Velocity is highly...

    Game Warden Job Listing

I went to college for Wildlife management before I bailed because I was already making more money than a starting salary biologist as a 19 year old working in retail. No different than a lot of other important jobs(cops, teachers), we gotta do something to start paying these people adequately...

probably so, but I'd like to see what he'd do if on the scene and how he'd investigate something like this circus. My guess is Utah DWR will get involved at some point.

I'd actually find it really interesting to see how @mtwarden would go about handling this.
